I hope you enjoy seeing me try out these new pens! Thanks for watching 😊

I used ball point pens for years in my planners and checkbook registers. Decades later, in looking at these documents, I could still read everything, but I noticed a sort of halo effect around the ink lines. I Understand the ink is oil based and believe that over many years, the oil had somehow seeped into the paper around the ink. Giving the paper a slightly translucent effect. Might not be good for LONG TERM art pieces on paper or other absorbent surfaces. I had a favorite pen that I got refills for. But I'm sure I also used random ball point pens. Really nice artwork and variety. Disappointed that the nicer pens were not waterproof as I am trying to learn watercolor. But there are waterproof inks. That wavy hair is really gorgeous.

Ink illustrations are so satisfying to watch. 😍 I don't typically use pens for sketching (which is sad because I have obtained a plethora over the years. 😅), but when I do, I use the Bic Round Stic Grip. Exact same pen as the regular Round Stic that you have, but obviously with a grip. And maybe it's just me, but the Crystal versions of the pen just don't have the same consistent flow over time.

I bought the Lamy white safari today and a converter. My Sketch Ink Lotto turned up yesterday to use with the pen. Boy is that ink waterproof. Try it if you get the chance 😁

To vary the line of the Lamy, you can draw upside down and get a thinner line. Just for mentioning that and you can get nibs only, they are easily interchangeable. If you would like more information, please feel free to ask. I’ve been using Lamy safari since it first came out (in the 1980s). I have about...I guess about 150 of them in my collection. If you want to use waterproof ink, the Rohrer&Klingner ink is possible. And they provide a great color selection. Just make sure to use the pen on a close to daily basis or get the cleanser as well. I in fact mix the cleanser right into the ink and it is no problem with clogged bibs anymore.

I really like your drawing of the church. I'm Norwegian and I recognized it before you said that it was an Norwegian church. Good job. :)

Thank you for a great video. Have you thought about using the Platinum Carbon ink in the Platinum desk pen. It has an extra fine nib that I love. Again, thank you for your information.

I like the Lamy pens (every pen I bought from them) and I prefer to use converters to clean up the pen a lot faster. If you have waterproof ink or even carbon ink.. you should clean your pen with water at least once a month. For writing, I use Noodler's Black Eal because it's waterproof but have a longer drying time too. I use this ink a lot if I'm going to write a greeting card or do my journaling set up. Colored waterproof ink will be quite cool too. Something like a turquoise or blue. I have also no idea if there is waterproof colored ink on the market that is safe to use with fountain pens.

Lamy fine nib is .4 mm. Japanese fountain pens write finer and the fine nib is .3 mm for Pilo, Sailor and Platinum.

I don't know why they don't make a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen with an extra fine brush nib like the Sign pen. The Pocket Brush Pen can do fine lines, but it's not as easy as with the Sign pen.

Oh dear! I must have had waterproof ink in my Lamy S. when used with watercolor. Now I have to go check - apologies! 😲

It also depends of the ink ingredients and properties
