a small tip: it's a lot easier to extract the pigment if you grind the stick with its end flush to the stone instead of on its corner 😊

Thank you so much for making such a detailed video to show these ink sticks in action! ✨ I took shodo (Japanese calligraphy) for 5 years while living in Japan, and we used black ink sticks like this. But I had no idea there were colored versions!! Now I am dying to try them out for both painting AND calligraphy. Not to mention, they are packaged so irresistibly it makes me want to eat them lol 😍 🌸 incredible work as always! 🌸

it's funny you're saying this but she's grinding the ink stick the wrong way. you're supposed to grind it flat and upright against the stone or else you'll damage the ink stick and the ink will come out grainy.

I don't think its a bad thing to see ppl try new things, you get to see a persons real struggle when it comes to learning. Sometimes seeing "professionals" can unknowingly cause others to not even want to try new art mediums. I do think ppl should label there experience with the medium in the title or video so ppl won't watch it thinking "omg they suck" or "what the heck is happening?".
