I have a theory: When the Nether portals opened a force was so strong it brought some of the nether into the world but since it was so powerful the portal shattered and left crying obsidian and unfinished portals. The chest is what the builders left for people to make there own portal and gold to help them be liked by piglins. Reason why that does not happen now is because when we go into the nether it is marked land and the portal has been lit somewhere else therefore preventing the spread

The desert well is super easy to find on version 1.19, 1.19.1, and 1.19.2 because theres a command called /place to place structures so you can put a desert well anywhere even in a different biome

I dont think anyone believes me but one time my friend found a world that had a house (not a normal house) it had a chest with named and enchanted loot and underground there was a huge amount of tunnels with redstone lamps and spawners that spawned mobs with armor swords and shields and near the bedrock it was nether themed this happened a few years ago in like 1.16 maybe
