I hate the term "solar generator." It's a battery. You can charge it with solar panels, but it doesn't generate anything.

I think that’s a new term for portable battery makers so they can try to compete with gas generators. Maybe it’s just semantics but they do generate power or at least store it. Yes it’s much fast to plug in to re-charge but someone could be very remote and use power at night then charge back up with portable solar panels during the day, then repeat.

Can you just plug the Starlink into the Tesla and let it drain the battery?

In Canada, Starlink wants an extra $30/month for it to be “mobile” and work at places other than your home address. Is that the case in the US as well?

Yes in US it’s an additional $30-35 for the mobility option but you have to keep account active. The RV mode is about the same cost but you can start and stop service as needed and not loose the service.

I would love to see this done again with the Super Duty in flight instead of the Tesla ...and I'm not just kidding! I've often been wondering if Starlink satellite work in flight at least in planes with a skylight or bubble canopy

Well they are supposed to be making it compatible for sailing so in theory…. But most sailboats don’t do 100 knots.
