been waiting for this kind of review for months! well done Curren. T.

@@TCJOHNSTONE thanks! Glad you enjoyed it - trying something new and casual that was hopefully still helpful. My favorite “reviews” are just a lot of footage with minimal editing so I can see the lens characteristics.

Thanks for great review and specially that you did it outdoors 🙏

You got it! Thanks for watching. I do find footage outdoors gives a much better sense of the characteristics of the lenses.

Auto track looks clutch for YT videos 😮

YES. It is. Need to fully calibrate my lenses with the Ronin 4D to make the AF more on-point, but already pretty close.

I can't tell, are you promoting the SP3's or the Ronin 4D....😜 Been thoroughly enjoying your channel🤘🙌
@CurrenSheldonАй бұрын
haha - hard to say anymore - just using the Ronin 4D is a promotion in and of itself. And thanks for watching!

What would be an alternative cine lens for those us that cant afford this beauties?
@CurrenSheldonАй бұрын
I've been using the Thypoch Simera-Cs recently and am recording a review soon - I think those could be a great, affordable alternative. They're also even smaller/lighter AND faster (T1.5)

@@CurrenSheldon or go vintage with stills lenses.

@@Joshloveslight True - I LOVE the Contax Zeiss lenses and had a set of those for years. Leica R are also great. And the EF Zeiss lenses can be had for pretty cheap these days.

@@CurrenSheldon I shoot often with a set of Nikon AIS's that I converted and then recently just finished a set of Vivitar's which are blowing my mind as well as a set of OM Zuiko's that are beautiful as well.

@@TCJOHNSTONE Haha that’s Jello! She’s a sweet mutt. Good for filming if you can wind her up and get her sprinting around in circles.

Have you tried them on the C70 yet?
@CurrenSheldonАй бұрын
Hey! Not yet - Am going to transition them to M-Mount after a shoot this week. So hopefully in the new year.

What’s going on over your right shoulder there with the 32? Swirl seems unusual.
@CurrenSheldonАй бұрын
Timestamp? Might just be some curly/jagged/swirly bushes.

@ I’ve never used Cooke lenses but always thought the ‘Cooke look’ was about smoothness. Bokeh looks more soap bubble than I expected.

Thank you for your thoughts on this Curren Curios (more of a 4d question) - have you tried mapping this onto the 4ds Lidar? If so, does it track well? Good enough for a skinny crew job? Hoping to take this to a more stylized doc as well, with th 4d b cam to my burano
@CurrenSheldon16 күн бұрын
Everything in this video was shot with tracking (I was solo), so you can see how it does. But I definitely have not put a lot of time into really dialing each lens in, so I'm sure it could get a lot better.
