Action on the rod is actually amazing. Progressive! Yamaga blanks are absolutely a dream I suppose. I recently started using Varivas shock leaders - I think it's the best I've used. Great video as usual man.

Varivas braid and leaders are something else. They tend to be on tjr thinner side, which is great for more finesse types of fishing, even jigging in 50/80 meters! As for rod, it’s feather light and you’d think it would not deliver under some load but it does. It’s trevally season on shore casting, I can’t wait to handle a 2kg trevally on this setup. It’ll be much fun !

We have almost the exact setup. 85tz nano + 23 Airity 2500X-SH + PE 0.6 Varivas. Favorite combo now. Yamaga blanks are a dream to fish with.

Amen to that. Hooking a small (1.5kg) on that set up was quite an experience! Loved it!

It’s a actually quite comfortable for softbaiting and helps a lot with long casts. With a wind in the back, I landed 3.5g jigheads at well over 30 meters. The downside is that you just can’t really cast very hard, like you would on a 6’7 or 7´ rod. You’ll probably break the rod if you did.

Awesome! What braid diameter do you use?
@mauritiusfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks. The Varivas 8 PE 0.6 (13lb breaking strength) I use would be 0.132 mm in diameter. That’s quite thin. On a stradic 3000, I have 10lbs spiderwire that is a thicker 0.2mm in diameter.

@@mauritiusfishing I use he same, 0.14mm Shimano , so I guess it's that special rod action that make you cast so far. Thanks!

@@IdontcareJnoJon The extra inches (it’s a 7’4) probably come into play, yes. You’re using the new Pitbull from Shimano? I need to check that one out.
