david mike The function you are looking for is called Time-Lapse photography, and while the camera does offer a mode to count down until it takes a pictures, you need a piece of equipment called an Intervalometer to take pictures at certain time intervals. As far as I know, they are not compatible with this camera, so you would need to get yourself a DSLR Camera such as the 600D. I hope this helps, please remember to rate, comment and subscribe!

Fil Fil Sorry for the late reply. I currently use this camera to shoot video in places where I wouldn't risk my DSLR. So for video, use the MENU/OK button, and in the SHOOTING MENU set QUALITY to HD 1280, however this only means you can shoot 9m 41s before it has to be restarted. For photography, you have more options under the SHOOTING MENU, which mainly are set by preference. For best quality, choose an L option in IMAGE SIZE, but set the aspect ratio by preference (I use 4:3 for general photos, but 16:9 for photos relating to filming (i.e. Thumbnails). For IMAGE QUALITY, set it to F/FINE. For FINEPIXCOLOR set that to STD/STANDARD (it is best to change it to CHROME/BLACK & WHITE in photo-editing software on your computer. If that fails, try adjusting the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed settings in M mode to achieve a more desirable result. If all else fails, I would say to import the photos before rejecting them, as the LCD is not the best, and you may find they look better on a computer. You could also try to upscale them a tiny bit, or sharpen them and improve the quality with filters in an image editor. I have only written this from my own knowledge and from a quick play with my camera, but I will (at some point) try to make a video that goes into more detail. considering buying this,found one for 25
