I had the same issue with the one I purchased, and I put a 1”x1” neodymium magnet in the hopper to hold it to the supporting bar to minimize the shifting and a 2 inch C clamp upfront to keep it from kicking up.

A magnet is an interesting idea. I saw someone who drilled a hole and put a pin through where the top meets the bottom. I like the idea of something that is clean, but also easy to get undone for clean up.

I glued a couple baffles on the sides to devert the water back to the center to keep water from running down the sides

Thanks for the tip! I think I will try to attach something on the sides.

My father told me to always have a camping shovel in my car.

Sage advice...I have a nice folding metal shovel, but I left it at home as well! I should stow it in my car for such emergencies.

As my tests showed, it is catching all the gold. Why do you say I need so much more water flow?
@justis4men21125 күн бұрын
You need MORE water flow!!!
@EricFindsGold24 күн бұрын
If I have more water flow, the water shoots down the sides of the top box and out the back. I don't want my gold washing out the back before it even hits the sluice.

Drop riffle units require less water flow to allow the gold to just "drop" out of the suspension over the riffles, unlike your typical riffles, using much more water, to create a low pressure zone distally from each riffle.
