perhaps install a non-return valve where the water runs into the basin so that it cannot run back into the pipes.
@nevermind4482 жыл бұрын
Won't work, too much pressure from the water in the basin, it won't allow the valve open

Hey everyone, if you’re looking to clean/re-use your greywater you might want to look into a mulchpit.. l’ve been using one for almost 2 years and l absolutely love it! Filters the water, creates compost,grows plants, creates different microclimates.. what’s not to love and no other materials needed than your drain pipe and a tool for digging, one tip, get some rocks and a flat stone to make a ”tunnel” for your drainage pipe so you can pull it out when you’d like to flush it with a chemical to clean it. In the tropics this system is called a banana circle.

Thumbs up even though i dont think it will push the water down the pipe from the shower . Maybe a small pump needed.

1 view 3 comments? i would raise the inlet and the pipe to the height of the first inner wall, the reason it's not good to have standing water in pipes is food particles and fats will build up, if it is just above the first wall it will fall into the bed.. good effort though, every days a school day right!..
@Mydamian552 жыл бұрын
The "inlet". Its just what you call the inlet. If you mean the pipe in the container you'll be right, but for me the lowesr inlet is the shower. As long as that is higher as the water in all containers there will not be a problem. Unless there will be a problem in the pipes. But you also have that problem in every house.
@aidenjohns82482 жыл бұрын
@@Mydamian55 the inlet i mean is were the water enters the concrete on the tank, i was a plumber for 14 years of my life!, both the inlet and the pipe need raising! food solids and fat don't like going up hill.. raise the inlet and the pipe 8 inches looking at it! think about it! put some bits of food and fat in water shake it up and let it sit! solids will drop to the bottom and fats to the top! if water with food waste sits in a pipe eventually it will get blocked! creating a headache, also as solids enter the tank, heavy particles will fill from the bottom, leaving a layer of food waste in the tank for worms to break down..

Have you considered hydroponics. With carp and small fish and vegetables... Everything recycles itself... Also, consider tiger prawns in a large tank too.... Micro Farm for marketable plants an spices.... Verticle gardens...... So much out there... Solar hot water and pump, pipe that through the house and use that to heat house... Also solar concentrators instead of panels....

Ok. Before I watch the result. I don't think the camera gives an accurate picture of the slopes involved. I think it will work, however, I don't think the first catch basin will be as full as your guessing. I really don't see a need for it to be that full. You wants slow movement from chamber to chamber with as little co mixing as possible.

Do you need to add an overflow (and maybe an overflow tank you can pump water out of back to the start) to ensure the water flows under the high point (where it needs to flow underneath)? The size of the system you have designed needs to suit the volume of water you use, have you taken this into consideration?

Not going to work the inlet pipes needs to be on top not down below the inlet needs to completely drain otherwise the sludge will fill up the pipes

@yodaz1012 жыл бұрын
EARTHSHIPS... look at their filtration systems.. TOO CLOSE TO HOUSE...Use White pvc and push it far away from the house... Perhaps a separate septic for shower and sink and then a leach field with vegetables and plants... but far from house... and another for sewer.. you need an extended leach field with percolation... Otherwise you will have a real mess and health hazard..... I am Portuguese, and I really don't like how they do septic there... Too tight... See how the americans do it.... 2 tanks and long pipes and percolation... Also SOAPS.. You need biodegrable, natural soaps and scum catch basins otherwise you will kill the plants... I will build something similar myself.... I will be looking for house and land soon..
