Pretty funny and informative video. I love your dog's expressions! I switched to Vaultx sleeves for my slabs, they're a little softer but they can still scratch the slabs with front pressure. I squeeze the sides as I insert them, works well.

For the record, I always believed you about the scratches! And it’s because the exact same thing happened to me just a few weeks before you posted your initial video on it last week. I thought I was going crazy. Holding the sides was a huge tip. But yeah, I now have a long scratch removal session in my future. Just waiting for the NuFinish Scratch Doctor to show up. By the way, you dropping the slabs and your dog walking out was hilarious. 😂

I laughed out loud when I saw that roomba firing up and gobbling up the slabs! Was there ever going to be a golden retriever test?? I hope your floors and garage door are ok! 😂 Your video was also educational for me. I use the cardboard gold perfect fit sleeves for my PSA slabs, but now I’ll have to be VERY careful when taking them in or out to only handle by the edges. I do have some of the generic ultra pro ones, but they’re so loose fitting that the bag gets wrinkled and bent out of shape very quickly when they go in a graded card case. I think you may have also discovered a new method for cracking out cards from their holders! A true pioneer! Thanks for making me laugh this morning and keep up the great “research”! 😂😂😂

I didnt know that about the sleeves, i use to use the 2nd ones you showed but moved to the cardboard gold because of the better fit and the fact i dont buy bgs or sgc slabs anymore. I think you definitely found a way to crack the new slabs, i wont run over mine but i will definitely try smashing the edges in a vise next time i crack one.

That was great haha. I was really expecting that old slab to shatter. My mail lady dropped a package at my mail box one day. (In her defense there were a lot of packages) she didn’t notice and proceeded to run it over. It had 2 slabs inside it wrapped in cardboard, inside a bubble mailer. One of the 2 slabs cracked down the whole face of the slab. Probably had to do with the 2 being stacked, even though they were separated by cardboard. Cool video though! Was really hoping the new slab wasn’t going to scratch in the PSA sleeve. I also use those ultra pros and I think they need to just make the snug fit out of that softer plastic.

Thanks for this, very informative! Man just personal preference but I'm not a fan of the loose fitting graded sleeves on PSA cards. My entire PSA collection are in those perfect fitting tapered sleeves. This is depressing :-( I've seen those fine scratches too just like after you inserted the card and I had NO idea where they came from. Wouldn't have guessed the graded sleeve in a million years. You'd think after "Years" of research like PSA President Ryan Hoge stated, the new scratch resistant slabs would be able to handle being placed into a tight fitting sleeve without leaving marks... Sucks that's not the case. I guess now I decide whether to switch the collection to Ultra Pro sleeves or stick with cardboard gold & just pinch the sides and pray......

Thanks for watching! I don’t think you can distinguish the new one by eye or just pictures. You need to actually hold it in your hand, then you can tell 👍 It’s heavier, plastic feels different (more rubbery), and almost has a bubble feel to the front surface

The roomba test had me laughing out loud, your wife is gonna kill you if you dinged up the floors, you reverse your car with reckless abandon and the love tap on the garage door had me howling, and those perfect fit sleeves are still hot garbage and PSA needs to stop using them. Long story short, not all heroes wear capes haha

I know…I still can’t believe those slab sleeves can cause all of that :( The plastic on that snug sleeve is just too hard. They need that ultra pro softer plastic feel. And I agree….that Elway is still an awesome card. It’s on its way to Boca, probably gonna get a 10 😅

try just cracking it open to get the card out as before. i think psa intentionally gives out the random 6 grade in every order because they want us resubmitting. eh??

I think so, yes. They feel the exact same. So PSA must have been doing a soft introduction to them sprinkled in past orders. But now all orders include them 👍

The snug fit sleeves wasn't just residue? Did you try to wipe them off or buff them out?

Residue and light scratches. Normal wipe off won’t get them, but car scratch remover and buffing will get get most off 🙌
