I like this one a lot. The mortar is fired from the ground rather than from the vehicle itself. Could theoretically be fitted onto any suitable vehicle (hilux lol) without potentially damaging the suspension or possible effects on accuracy (due to the vehicle taking the recoil).

As a mechanic and arty marine I'll tell ya...you are focusing on tec...it should be real battlefield operators and 3rd echelon.....put tube one a base you can put on ground with one hydraulic cylinder and give a sight that aligns target....spin it on your base....man is there to operate...put rounds down range fast with cost effective equip..and one operator....make it simple and fast...Marines are...fail...nope would not do it. Your disconnected...they like the show but no your gonna get people killed..Marines don't do that...that's our job and has been. I've been watching alot of weapons systems...too much...been working on 1944 stuff...it's bullet proof..it's show...negative...the third echelon would be mrrr...couple seals and man operate...that's cost effective and fast!....make something that Hands him rounds fast after solution for sight quickly!

All mortars are artillery, but not all artillery are mortars. Mortars have a much lower muzzle velocity and much steeper firing angles, which means shorter ranges. They're also much more operationally and strategically mobile systems than artillery guns. They are incorporated (generally) into infantry units at the company level, whereas artillery pieces(like howitzers and field guns) are organized into batteries and assigned at the battalion level.
