To summarize what Bullet Penetration does, it means that your bullets don't disappear as fast from hitting things. That means that the same bullet can potentially damage a person or object multiple times, and that your bullets are better at overwhelming opposing bullets and punching through them. Longer explanation; As far as I understand it, everything in this game has a health bar, even bullets. Tanks, shapes, bullets, all of them have health and damage stats. Whenever two things bump into each other, they damage each other, and they disappear when they run out of health. Bullet Penetration increases the health bar on your bullets, so they can stay in the game longer and hit more things before they die. If you have two players with really high damage and zero penetration shooting at each other, when their bullets collide, they just destroy each other and nothing happens. If you invest into Bullet Penetration, though, your bullets might survive the collision and go on to hit your opponent while their bullets disappear and you escape unharmed. Not sure how well this would play out in practice, but my theory is that bullet penetration is helpful on builds that have a lot of bullets, so you can use them as shields against enemy bullets. It's also really good on builds that have really slow bullets, because your bullets will spend more time in contact with a tank or object, letting them deal damage over and over again. It might also be a helpful damage boost on machine-gun/twin-gun builds that have a ton of low-damage projectiles, because it's effectively a damage multiplier that you add on to all of your bullets.

I really like the longer explanation. I'll add to it that bullet penetration acts as a multiplier for bullet damage. Therefore, in the general case, whenever you want your bullets to do damage, you want both bullet damage and penetration. Also, every tank classes has different base stats. The annihilator (target class of the video) has a very high bullet damage, a high bullet penetration (the Destroyer 10:04 also has a higher base stat for bullet penetration which is why you can see the bullet hit more targets), a low bullet speed and a low bullet reload speed. This is my childhood game😂

Ya'll managed to explain this very well, (and correctly) and do the thing I couldn't: get a comment popular enough that Jerry and Co. might receive the information. Two things I will add are, following this line of logic, body damage acts as defense because the bullets dies faster, and one other bit of info is that bullets do lose hp slowly as they travel, but bullet penetration doesn't help with that.

Jerome, never go movement speed with this build, just shoot backwards to propel yourself ONLY, it's actually way quicker honestly.

Here is the build I would usually use for a one hit build with Annihilator: 2 regen (helps you get back your health from random bullets and shapes) 1 health (the first point on a stat always felt like the most significant one) 0 body damage (damage comes from the bullet anyway) 7 bullet speed (makes it harder for enemies to dodge your bullet) 7 bullet penetration 7 bullet damage 7 reload speed (so you can miss shots and be fine. This also ups the damage per seconds which is relevant against any ramming style of combat. With the high knockback upon firing, this makes for a good maneuverability.) 1 speed (use the knockback from firing to go fast) As I saw, you already got familiar with the ramming capabilities of that tank: 5 regen (to balance between regen and movement speed) 7 health (tanky boy) 7 body damage (spiky boy) 0 bullet speed (useless) 0 bullet penetration (useless) 0 bullet damage (useless) 7 reload speed (most important for better movement speed and better maneuverability) 6 speed (this helps you keep more speed between each shots, it is not for acceleration)

@@GuillaumePerronNantel These are very good stat spreads, good job on being one of the few people here who understands how to build a tank (you can sacrifice 1-2 points of bullet speed on the first build for better hp btw)

@@andrewmoore2580 I like to dodge and block in a mid range to high range combat but indeed bullet speed is generally something you can sacrifice a little of if you prefer closer range combat. More health will help in closer combat since it will be hard to dodge the enemy bullets between every shot and closer combat makes the bullet speed less relevant.

Suggestion . First, don’t max speed. Annihilators have high recoil. So movement speed doesn’t matter , you can use max speed, and you can also max reload . cause it gives you higher recoil. Also,I always max all bullet stat and add some for health

Btw the class that has the triangles is in the sniper line. And the pink homing triangles are from the map itself and not a player or npc enemy. They only go after you when you are close to the center of the map. The big pentagons are also only at the center. Back to the homing triangles class. Some of the stat names change, pullet penetration changes to drone health i believe. Same with bullet speed changes to drone speed. Bullet penetration is probably the most important stat for the drone class (i think its called the observer, dont quote me on that)

Sniper actually does increase the range you see things although at the first tier it’s a minimal increase but at the last tier it’s a pretty good increase allowing you to hit players who don’t even see you on screen

You should use no speed when using this build and have max reload because with the amount of recoil you will go faster. Also you shouldn’t do health Regan first and wait until you max your bullet damage, penetration, and bullet speed. Penetration makes you deal even more damage onto your bullet damage and makes your bullet continue going as well. Oops I didn’t watch he whole video. STEVE IS RIGHT DONT USE MOVMENT SPEED
