Big balls. As you said. R8s are tricky to drive because of the balance. They do not have perfect weight distribution. They demand respect and high skills as presented on this video. Always stressed driving those beyond the limit. A friend of mine rolled over one recently and broke his back. It sums up the car pretty well.

The RS3 3. Generation (8Y) has a Driftmode (Torque Rear Vectoring) you could try it aswell or you wait for 2025. Audi announced that the Facelift 2025 will have a updated version of the mode.

I think it’s not more than a nice try honestly. I experienced this mode in the current rs3 and also in the Golf R, it’s a nice feature for people who want to have a little fun playing around, but serious controlled drifting is hardly possible.

It is simple, longer wheel base and better weight distribution will enable any car to be predictable thus fun. BMWs have it. R8 rather not with 42:58 weight distribution. And that's with quattro. Without it it will be even less in balance.

My favourite video of yours in the past couple of months. The perfect weather together with the locations you've visited and a perfect time of the day to shoot made it such a fantastic and pleasant viewing experience. Something about the whole intro being shot right in front of your garage in those wonderful conditions made me feel super cozy too. 😅 These roads in the valleys soaked in sunlight look mesmerising. One of my fav cars of all time, such a shame they are discontinued. This is peak MODERN modern interior design if you ask me. The AC controls make me moist. 🥵 Been a while since they're out and there were plenty of cars in this price range to come out in the meantime, but whenever I watch a video like this one, I am once again being reminded why I fell in love with it and no matter what else comes out, this will forever remain around the top of the list for me. I hate moments like 14:17 because whenever it happens I can't help but look back absolutely terrified at some of the stuff I did prior to realising how little grip I had. 😂 Video so good had to vent into the void a little, thanks for making it.

I mean, I have to say it: Besides the fact that this is a new Schaefchen video I knew that Mani would have a blast sitting in the passenger seat 👍 And he had a blast 😂🙏 I never was a huge fan of Audi‘s, because the fact that 98 percent of them are AWD cars. And I don’t want to face „Audisteer“ 🥴😜 BUT I had the pleasure a few years ago to enjoy a few fun laps with an Audi R8 V10 on the „track/test course“ in Neuburg an der Donau, and a very relaxed but skilled Audi Instructor behind the wheel. And yes this car was AWD but holy smokes, the Instructor made the car do „things“, I was highly impressed by that! So I know that even an Audi R8 AWD is capable of going sideways (with full force and pushing from the driver) and yes, the car sounds amazing but I‘ll always prefer a BMW M car over an Audi R8, sorry 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mani said it in the video, this design is an homage to the good old and sadly way too short Group B rally cars from Audi, and seeing the „HB Logo“ on it (by the way to all „foreign“ guys, this was a very huge cigarette brand here in Germany) gave me flashbacks of my Dad, who used to be a HEAVY HB smoker till he had to quit smoking after his second heart attack 🫣, and I can’t and won‘t write how quite a few people interpreted the letters „H“ and „B“, but it has to do with the sadly well known man from Austria who started World War II 🫣 And don’t get me wrong, I never liked the „interpretation“ of HB but back in the days some people did find it funny 🫣🙄 Thx to Otto and Mani for another epic video, I really had so much fun listening to Mani having a huge blast 😂❤ All the best, Philipp

When the R8 first got released I was managing a high end wharf on Sydney harbour that had a super car hire place on it. Their phones stopped working one day and they rung me to fix it. I said if I fix your phone system can I take the R8 for a drive as a joke. He said if you fix it, you can take it for the weekend. Of course I fixed the phone system. It was RWD also though had to start taking it easy on the Sunday as I didn't want to return it with no rear tyres. Though yes a nice car to dive through some of Australia's national park roads. Keep Drifting.

my 335hp V8 quattro can only drift in snow, even when it rains just a litte after a long period of no rain it wont go sideways. Even a 140hp E36 BMW 318i can drift in the rain. First snow today this year and unfortunatly i had to get new winter tires, i bought linglong china tires in hope to get it to drift better but it was not going too well, to much grip on snow with new winter tires, only worked when i almost floored it. So this winter i only trust myself in drifting on corners where going offroad would not be to big of an issue, its just to much grip for me to have fun. Last winter i had 7 year old winter tires that were below the 1,6mm limit and had alot of cracks, these were perfect for the quattro system. Stayed straigt perfectly when i wanted it, had no issues going up hills and i could drift if i wanted to. I had alot of fun because it was easy controlable and very chill to drift at lower speeds.

Really cool R8, you are mad drifting it in these conditions on those small roads. 😂 Reminds me of my first car but this is waaaay juiced up. I get what you mean by it being unpredictable. BMW's tend to get lighter in the rear at higher speeds, it all comes down to weight distribution and the type of suspension. GG Sheepman
