Thanks for sharing Dawn. I had thought about trying those but think despite having a narrow mid foot, my forefoot is too wide and my Achilles too sensitive! Saved me a lot of money!

I think sometimes we watch shoe reviews, and because a shoe is great for the reviewer, we think it's going to be great for us. We all have different feet, so my advice is always try if you can before buying. In the future, I'd go on my treadmill with a shoe, and if it didn't feel right, I'd send it back. I think shoe companies should allow us so many miles to try the shoe. ..😅

The puma shoes i wore today can tend to rub my left Achilles. I was wearing them when my injury flared up last year. I've found that lacing them tighter, including a runners knot, can help to alleviate the problem. These ones in your review look really nice, and that springiness seems great. Hopefully you start to get on well with them 👍

The runners knot is something I normally use but haven't in these, but I will remember to do so now and see how they go. 🙂

My Coach ran them in the last MCR half marathon last autumn , he too was very impressed with them. I ran a marathon in both the original diviate elite 1 and deviate elite 2 and they were a little snug (the second one especially which turned the shoe pink at the end 😆, body glide on the big toe helps) they provided me with a 10 minutes and later a 27 minute PB over the 26.2 . Having never worn the 3. I appriciate the review at the sort of paces I run at. Thank you. I tend to wear Crew socks when I race. Not sure how you get around the heal issue without cutting the back (FOD runner modifications) .

I, too, loved the original Puma Deviate Nitro Elite. Such a bargain I bought 3 pairs! 😁 I did think about cutting the cuff, but I'm not ready to cut into a new pair of shoes. I'm going to try a runners knot as suggested by a few folk as I would normally do this but hadn't. I'll give them another shot with doing that, but be close to the car or home to change should they start to rub.

I have the elite 3’s too. I also had bad heel rub on both feet the first time I wore them. I heel locked them afterwards and I’ve never had any rubbing issues since

Thank you. I'm going to do the runners knot and see if it makes a difference.

Puma a bit notorious for heel rubs and slim fit. As suggested, do a runners knot and keep for fast 5k. Apply vaseline pre wear too . Love them , but with feet swelling on long runs i get same issue so i use for shorter faster runs now 😊

I love my other Puma Deviate Nito Elites. So much so I bought 3 pairs 🙂 I normally do a runners knot but didn't in these, so I will do so. Thanks for reminding me. 👍

Puma shoes do tend to run a bit narrow. Runners knot to lock the heel in may help

I think it was the height of the heel cuff as it seemed higher than my other Puma shoes. I normally use a runners knot but didn't on these, so I will try that to see if it makes a difference. Thanks. 🙂

Ah, that’s a shame. They look like a decent shoe, could it be a sizing issue maybe?

Great review, I have them. No problem with blisters or anything like that. I did run with a bit of a thick socks and once my feet swell after an hour or so the pressure on the top of my feet (above the metatarsal) was painful. Since then I only run with thin socks and problem solved. They resemble the Vaporfly V2 but they last forever unlike the Vaporfly 😢.

It shows doesn't it that what suits one person won't necessarily be the best shoe for another person. 🙂
