Great video, thanks. This is real world use that most of us will do on occasion. We have a 2008 F-150 and are looking at mid-size segment. We have narrowed it down to Canyon AT4 and Ranger. I like the factory two inch lift, the aggressive styling, and a lot of standard features. I built one online for $49,995 while the Ranger was just over $52k. So, the price difference for a similarly equipped truck is more than Canyon. Did not like Tacoma, Frontier, or Gladiator. Do you think the Canyon will be comfortable for a 3-4 hour highway ride? We usually make about 5 or 6 weekend trips each year so comfort is important. All the reviews I have seen on Canyon are positive. Glad you are happy with it and love your truck.

This truck is a very comfortable ride! 3-4 hour trips would be a breeze in it.

If you have kids or pets in the back seat keep in mind the cannon/colorado have vents in the back and the Ford doesn't. So climate control is so much better.

Good job making the video.. I have a new 2024 Canyon Denali. I'm very impressed with the power plant as well, actually amazed. The low end torque feels like it's coming from a much larger displacement engine.

Thanks for the vid . Just pulled the trigger on a Colorado Z71. Not many around in Canada

Just got my z71 last Saturday I'm really loving it!

Im in the market also. What's your thought's after a month. I too live in Canada
@dougwarren54716 ай бұрын
@joelaquin I love it. I originally wanted the trail boss but once I seen everything the z71 came with I made up my mind. It's a very solid truck. I tow a 5300lb camper and it tows fantastic. Anyone complaining about headlights being in the touch screen are being ridiculous. Set it to auto and nvr touch it again pretty simple.

@joelaquin and I get about 650km on a tank of gas my 21 colorado was around 500km roughly same size tank.

This is really interesting and useful information. The great equalizer in comparison for any brand of truck is towing. I pull a 2004 Mastercraft Prostar 205V, and with full fuel tank, half empty ballast, gear, etc, I’m just over 4000lbs. Here’s where it gets interesting. I tow with a 2003 GMC Sierra with the old 5.3 LM7 V8 with 285hp/325ft-lb and upgraded 3.73 Yukon gears. It has a tune and headers, but I manage 11.4mpg highway at 70mph. And trust me, with a 4 speed transmission, you definitely know a boat is back there. My point is, I’m looking to upgrade and I absolutely love the Canyon/Colorado, but I feel like GM is missing the big picture with a 2.7 turbo engine. I know it produces a lot of torque, but does it at the expense of a 4 cylinder getting only 23-24 mpg unloaded, and 8mpg towing. I’m one of the old school guys that would love to see them give the option of a V8 or even the 3.0 Duramax in that platform. Transmission and rear end is where a truck makes its money, and I just feel like with a modern transmission, you could easily get 26-28mpg with a V8 on board, and send the midsize market into a new era.

Have a 2023 Sierra double cab elevation with the 2.7 turbo full size truck no problem with power but fuel economy is same as a 5.3 v8 which isn’t the best news lol

Didn’t realize until I purchased my canyon that it didn’t have tow/haul mode. Would you say you’d still feel comfortable towing 5000 lbs occasionally in only normal mode? And possible a 3.5-4 hour trip. Appreciate your videos they’ve been super helpful
@Desertsandworm3 ай бұрын
Mine has tow haul, yours just doesn’t have the option? And yes towing occasionally I wouldn’t be worried.
@jonathontraigle1383 ай бұрын
@@Desertsandworm it doesn’t, I didn’t get the factory towing package because I intended on just adding a receiver/hitch later down the line. Made sure I had a L3B and a limited slip differential, and assumed tow/haul mode would be an option.

did u drive the ranger at all? If so what made you choose the canyon over the ranger
@Desertsandworm3 ай бұрын
I didn’t drive the ranger. I chose the canyon due to its design, towing capabilities, and I got a slight discount through gm.

Would the truck be good if I towed a boat once a week, around 5k lbs.?
@Desertsandworm5 ай бұрын
Definitely, I’m looking at a camper that weighs 4K and I have no worries.
@horn2567 ай бұрын
Where did you get the hitch receiver? Mine came without the receiver and all the online ones I find are rated for 3,500lbs

My truck came with the trailering package, so it came from factory. You might check the gmc accessories website

Do the frames still buckle like they use to?
@Desertsandworm7 ай бұрын
I hope not.
@dougwarren54717 ай бұрын
Dumb question. You seen one video of a frame buckling that was the drivers fault. I towed a 5500 lb camper with my 21 many times no problems at all.

The only thing i dont really like about my 23 canyon is if you dont do a complet stop like to 0 not even 1 you have to do a complet stop the transmission will not go to 1 gear .. it will stay on second gear
@Desertsandworm7 ай бұрын
Oh wow, I haven’t noticed that in mine.
@geezusmeatball13287 ай бұрын
Well it does you should test it do a quick "stop " 1-2 mph and test with a complet stop
