Thoughts on the player preferred vs sig pro softy?
@GarageGolf3 күн бұрын
I love them both. SIGPRO Softy has always been my go to but there is no extension that gives you a solid floor all the way to the screen like you could get with the player preferred series. That is really one of the only drawbacks. I've been loving the player preferred as well to be honest. SIGPRO is also slightly cheaper so that may factor in but I don't think you would be disappointed with either in all honesty. Pros and Cons to each but very little cons and a ton of pros.

@GarageGolf I’d love to connect with you on your pro and cons list for each. I’m not very concerned with putting or price really (within reason). What would be the best way to connect

I just bought the fiberbuilt grass series hourglass pro studio golf mat. I’ve hit off fiberbuilt a before and enjoyed them. I have a Skytrak+ in my garage and the mat I’m currently using is shot. So I bought a fiberbuilt on a huge sale during Black Friday. It arrives tomorrow I cannot wait. My body and joints cannot wait either lol.

@@GarageGolf I’m sure I will. I see you aren’t using K2 golf tees anymore… I changed out the bungie cords with braided fishing line. The bungie got too tangled. The fishing line I haven’t had a no read, but it too gets tangled. I’m trying to find a solution to use as the cord… maybe a black thicker rope would work…

@ I still use them. I just had to move them aside for this video just because I had stuff all over the place.

Thank you. Have you tested Magstrike. Promise real feel and no enjuries. Would like to know your opinion.
@GarageGolf16 күн бұрын
I have not tested Magstrike but have always wanted to. The only negative I've heard about it is that they can cause interference with portable golf launch monitors that go by the golf ball. Not sure if that is accurate or not. Unfortunately I also have not seen them at the PGA Show to test out.
@barbronilsson740816 күн бұрын
@@GarageGolf ok thanks for your quick reply. I use Garmin R10 so I guess I go into that category. Garmin behind the ball. Will take that into consideration. Perhaps something will come out from the PGA show soon. Keep up the good work.

great content, i have a question , do use gspro and if u do i was wondering if the new ball ready indicator is working on ur uneekor, just wondering because i can not get mine to work since the new v3 came active for gspro, thx
@GarageGolf2 ай бұрын
Haven't tested it yet but I'll see if I can get in there tomorrow and check for you. Do you mean the Ready indicator on the View software or on GSPRO directly?

How firm is the hitting surface compared to a normal range mat? Im on the fence about the grass version and this
@GarageGolfАй бұрын
Much more forgiving. Out of the three the preferred is my favorite option by far.
@katos84770Ай бұрын
@@GarageGolf thanks....are they rated for outdoor use and can be left out in bad weather?
@GarageGolfАй бұрын
@@katos84770 Fiberbuilt makes many mats that are great for outdoors and used on driving ranges for sure. I don't see anything where it specifically states it cannot be kept outdoors for any of these options but I don't have a definitive answer at the moment.

@ thanks. I’ll give them a call.

Is Fiberbilt compatible with the Apogee?

Possible you might have issues with the grass series but I have not had any with the Player Preferred at all.

I have a setup where I need to set up/take down. Dont love my mat----how heavy is the player preferred (Id go 4x8)? Is it feasible to put together/take down quickly? Thx
@GarageGolfАй бұрын
Very heavy with the base! About 200+ lbs if I had to guess. You'd be much better off going with something like the SIGPRO Softy Mat like this one: mygaragegolf.com/collections/golf-mats-and-hitting-strips/products/sigpro-4x10-golf-mat Breaks down into three pieces so easy to take apart and set aside when not in use. Also one of if not my favorite golf mat on the market.

Early in this review you mentioned not liking the current setup on your joints, what was it?
@GarageGolfАй бұрын
If you look at a couple of videos before that you will be able to see the setup. All it is really is 1/2 gym flooring covered by 3/8 inch turf with a piece of golf mat essentially cut out in a rectangle to fit in there. I don't even have a brand name for it in all honesty. It was a custom job type of thing. This mat is a much better experience.

Player preferred seems like the obvious choice but wow so expensive, any chance of a black Friday sale on them? Thanks for reviewing.
@GarageGolf2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I agree it is quite pricey but a very good mat. I don't resell for Fiberbuilt currently so I'm not aware of any Black Friday sales in advance but keep an eye out and we'll update notes in here in the comments if we hear of any sales on Fiberbuilt. Lots of Black Friday sales have already started. The ones we resell you can find directly on our website at mygaragegolf.com/pages/black-friday-sale-2024

I’m very interested in adding a grass series studio mat to my sim setup but I have a SkyTrak and I’ve read that some people have had issues with their SkyTrak launch monitor not reading shots with the grass series mats , have you seen or heard of these issues obviously you’ve done more testing than most people out there so any input would be greatly appreciated ⛳️
@GarageGolf2 ай бұрын
My original setup was a Skytrak with the grass series from Fiberbuilt. I did have some misreads but that was mainly on the Skytrak, not necessarily the mat to be honest. Skytrak can be prone to misreads no matter the mat or situations around it. If you like the mat and the feel I'd say go for it in my opinion.
@scmc1892 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reply, in your opinion would you go with the fiber built grass series or Sig Pro softy their both pretty close in price , and how do I make sure your site gets credit regardless of which one I end up purchasing?
@GarageGolf2 ай бұрын
@@scmc189 I work as a reseller for both but my honest opinion would be the SIGPRO Softy hands down. I've never personally tested anything better in my opinion and if you want the weight and stability of the Fiberbuilt mat you can do the SIGPRO Super Softy Mat which is very comparable: mygaragegolf.com/collections/golf-mats-and-hitting-strips/products/sigpro-super-softy-4x9-golf-mat
