Epic is the word that sums up this collection. I haven't been lucky enough to come across any PVMs but I have managed to save roughly 40+ low to high end consumer sets and monitors. I used to hate trash day. Now I put a few bucks in the car and go looking around to see what treasures I can find and give a second life. Maybe even a 3rd one. Appreciate the content. Been learning a few things along the way. Thanks duders.

Just another day at the office! I too try to keep my CRTs well organized, the part where they physically take up space doesn’t count though. Those shelves are essential for a collection! Great video!

Wow! That is one hell of a CRT hoard! Makes my pile of old TV's and radio's look kinda tame...😁

Just got a D20 casually sitting on a shelf lol, and a Japanese Olympus 20" I spotted, very nice. (not to mention a Sony C520K, imo the best flat-screen CRT Sony made, many will say the F520, but the C520K has fancy master grade phosphors for higher colour luminance, blacks and overall IQ)

This is definitely part of the reason 😂! Unfortunately, as we already know, so many CRTs have also been trashed by people that wanted the “latest and greatest” flatscreens. 😢

Truth be told, so many CRTs would be perma lost if it wasn't for guys like Steve preserving them, I do my best to save and refurb them too.

I be keen to see a video on how to convert a CRT that has a RGB-TTL input over to Analog RGB input. I have a JVC TM-90PSN that looks great other than this silly input.

I picked up a similar Sony hd crt w/ all the inputs - can't play light gun games but looks really nice with higher resolution games. A PC crt would be better probably, but definitely can't beat the big screen. I hear a retrotink 5x can scale lightgun games to 540p to sort of trick some of these into skipping the digital processing and remove the lag time to get light gun games working though.

Imagine all the CRTs that ended up in a dump! We paid $30 for the city to pick up our 36" CRT TV. I watched as they loaded it in the garbage truck along with all the other garbage.

Hello steve. What do you think about 20L4 in comparison to 20M4U ?
@Wobble20073 ай бұрын
I have a 20M4, incredible PVM, though I think mine needs the G2 adjusting, the 240p is incredible on it, even better than my LaCie Blue IV 22 in 240p 120Hz mode.

@davidbenning104 ай бұрын
Do you prefer PVM, TV CRT or PC CRT for DVD movies?
@Wobble20073 ай бұрын
FYI mare, most PVMs are not great for DVD, as they are 480i or 576i, and that just doesn't look as good as either a PCM @ 576p with motion adaptive deinterlacing at 72Hz (or scaled up with your GPU), or the best way to watch DVD imo is on a nice CRT TV, as they are perfect for 480i or 576i, especially a nice big CRT set, a 36 inch 4:3 is equivalent to a 65" 16:9 set viewable screen estate wise, the best way to watch on a high TVL PVM is too downscale to 240p.
