U are supposed to flip the watermelon slicer the other way and cut using that side and than flip it over again and put the rounded blade back in and squeeze it to pull the slices out

I agree, I grew up using the egg slicer, I love hard boiled eggs and I love the egg slicer, it was always satisfying to see the egg be cut. My Mimi always likes to cut the egg one way and then flips it the other way and then put the cubed pieces of egg into premade potato salad from Costco to basically make egg potato salad So good! 😋😋😋

When I lived in China I loved watching the street pineapple vendors slice the pineapple. They would slice in such a way that they would spiral along the black grooves, then cut the pineapple in quarters then sell them on sticks. They would sit them in water to take away some of the tartness. Perfect snack for a summer day!

Some of these gadgets are made for people with disabilities to help them in the kitchen, I think you have to remember that when your testing it. Good video though x

Aislinn Cumming yes, the watermelon one she dismissed would actually help me a lot. Trying to cut a watermelon with a knife into slices with the skin (which she demonstrated she prefers) would be difficult and dangerous for me.

Most packs of kiwifruit over here in New Zealand come with a little double-ended plastic spoon/knife thing similar to the gadget in this video. We end up with tonnes of them, one hiding in every corner of the drawer! :)

You turn the watermelon slicer the other way to cut, then back and squeeze to remove. You can cube the entire watermelon in the rind (slice, rotate, slice) then tip it out into a bowl. It is really easy.

For the watermelon slicer, it may be better if you cut it kind of like a pound sign. So you get like 3d rectangle pieces.

The egg slicer will come in handy for moms. When you are trying to get a snack ready for the kids. Like bananas. I mean you could obviously use a knife but it may be faster slicing and dropping them into a bowl or plate.

I love my watermelon slicer! You are using it wrong though. Flip the cutter around so the teeth are facing up. It also makes getting the watermelon pieces out easier when you cut both ways so you have cubes and slice the melon in half the other way.
