I really wish you didn't need a doctor's prescription to get this test. The lyme doctor that I had for 4 yrs didn't believe in testing, instead he relied on symptoms. My primary doctor did do a westen blot test that came back 5 band positive. I live in the Midwest where there are no real lyme specialists. The doctor's here really know nothing about how to treat lyme disease. In the mean time, the patient continues to suffer.
