This video is from day #8 in a series of videos from my 9 day summer trip along the Norway TET lines 1 and 2.
Parts of day #8 and day #9 was spent on my return to Bergen from Ryfoss via Vennisvegen, 1000-meteren/Rausdalen, Tindevegen, Luster and Vikafjellet. Videos from sections of the return route will be published as separate videos.
Left my cabin at 'Skåbu Hytter og Camping', drove Jotunheimvegen, via Beitostølen and over Slettefjellet to Valdres to get back to my starting point on the TET lines at Ryfoss.
The gpx-file for the TET Norway sections as well as other information can be found here: transeurotrail...

A great series, thanks so much. I live in Wales and see the ferry from Newcastle to Bergen should be running again in 2026 so.... As others have said, your maps and tips are really helpful and otherwise it is good riding along with you to your music selection.

Thanks again! I’m looking forward to the new ferry myself. Wales is definitely an area I would like to see/ride.

@@TheTor_Detours Hi. My recommendation for GB is the Outer Hebrides. Ride (start late April / beginning ot May to beat the midges) to Oban via Inverary. Then ferry to Castlebay, Isle of Barra. Don't miss Vatersay in the South, you can camp there. Ferry to Eriskay (wonderful welcome BnB at Our Na Mara with Mary and Iagan McInnes, evening meal in the one pub (book ahead) Am Politician pub, named after the SS Politician that grounded on Eriskay in WW2, loaded with 1000's of cases of whisky and was the foundation of the film Whisky Galore (the original film is the classic), which is a must see before you go; they have one of the ship's whisky bottles and the ship's flare gun behind the bar). Then it's causeways up the Islands until you get the ferry to Berneray with loads of visiting to the East and West to be done along the way. I puttered along as if I was on a moped as it's too good to rush. Then ferry from Berneray to Harris. It's hard to choose whether to head East or West when you get off the ferry. Do both! They are both amazing. To the West, stop at Northton for the temple Cafe and Croft 36 wonderful home baking from its kiosk with honesty box. 'Walking the Hebridean Way' by Richard Barrett isbn 978-1-85284-727-2 is excellent for planning, context and as a travel companion and Brady Edition 2 Outer Hebrides guide by Mark Rowe isbn 978 1 78477596 4 is very good too. The two guides are quite different and it's well worth having both. Look up Gatliff Trust, it has three independent hostels on the Islands (you can't book them, you just turn up), and John's Bunkhouse on Berneray is excellent. On NW Lewis there is a dramatic bothy on the cliffs at Mangersta, look up the Linda Norgrove Foundation.

Happy New Year to you too! I’m glad to see my videos are appreciated. That is my main motivation for doing this; helping others to get the most out of their trips. As well as having something to look back at when I’m not riding myself anymore - hopefully a looong time to still… I’m kind of a loner on the road, but let me know if you are traveling in western Norway - always nice to meet likeminded people.🏍🇳🇴👍🏻

You get a lot more rain than we do here. Very nice scenery.

Water is a good thing - for sure, but we do get quite a bit of it from above - especially in western parts of Norway where I live…
