Vietnam Travel Vlog: Tet (Tết Nguyên Đán) is Lunar New Year holiday and it's the biggest holiday in Vietnam when people get together with their family, friends and other people to celebrate the upcoming exciting new year. I got to experience this amazing holiday with stunning views along Han River, concerts, dragon dance. What an experience it was to be a part of this holiday.

I lived and worked in VN for 9+ years but have since moved back to the US. I remember those weekend nights, holidays where the different cities in VN are so vibrant, so festive. But the most lasting impression is how families of young couples, to families with young and/or teenage children can walk around so freely and safely. Here in the US, it is so dangerous and crime ridden, not to mention gun related crimes, that we can't do what VN does. I understand there are certain parts of US cities that are safe but those are well off neighborhood while in VN, rich and poor can mingle at public spaces and squares with little to zero concerns. As for Tet, wow, I remember seeing thousands of smiling people rushing to prepare for Tet, then on the 1st and 2nd day of Tet, families on scooters dressing nicely and smiling s they go visit their relatives. I remember it was actually "contagious", I felt so happy and optimistic during Tet as well.
