'Teta's Kitchen' welcomes us to Teta Amal’s kitchen where we will learn how to prepare popular Egyptian dishes and hear cultural stories from Teta.
In the second video, we'll be learning how to make Egyptian Molokhia.
Molokhia is a name of a leafy plant used to make an Egyptian soup of the same name. Commonly served over rice, molokhia soup has a very slippery and viscous texture and is an extremely rich source of iron, vitamins, magnesium and potassium. Teta Amal’s molokhia is packed full of garlic, making it the perfect dish to build our immune systems during these winter months.

A new videos will be available to watch every Sunday our our KZbin Channel. Hosted by Jennifer Tran, this project is part of the Bowery Online program.

God bless her, I really laughed at her method of getting vegetarians to eat it. 😂 One question though, isn't this traditional made with chicken? Or have I missed out on the meat version all this time?

You can make it with either chicken or lamb. Both are delicious.

Interesting... In south korea & japan(real far east asia region) never use long rice. those short basmati fluffy style rice consider as cheap southeast asia region rice. without texture of gluttonous and lavish natural glossy on surface. that's why far east asia region rice don't need to use 'oil' Also long lasting fullness when compare with same volume of fluffy style rice. i guess hot & humid place country places prefer less gluttonous rice with spice to prevent spoil.

Chinese don’t use the long grain rice she mentioned either. No idea why she said the opposite.
