I'm surprised there's _any_ unused content still in the games' final builds (extra images, sprites, chips, animations, etc.), considering just how pressed for space they were when making the games. The change in art style from the more detailed 1-3 to the smaller and less detailed in 4-6 was due to needing to save data to fit on carts, and the most obvious one is how they cut nearly all the post-game out of 6 because the English/international translations took up so much more space than the original Japanese. (and even in Japanese there was still a lot of limited and cut content in 6)

I have been a fan of battle network since I was a kid when I watched my older sibling play BN5 in the ds. But about a year ago, I became utterly obsessed with the franchise thanks to open netbattle, which is built to make mods easy to make and even has online pvp. I've made full sprite sheets for both battle and the overworld for a GalaxyMan.EXE, and slowly putting together my own fangame that links the StarForce and Battle Network series together a bit better. I still have a long way to go, but I'm stubborn enough to at least get a playable demo myself one day.

I was used to the MMX series at the time and thought that it was cool how you befriend the navi to get their powers instead of killing them like how X would. @@TetraBitGaming True but they go unused in the NA version would have been nice to mention. Also those Orange/Yellow outline Panels you didn't know what they were, They are danger titles, In MBN1 panels change to yellow when foes use attacks on those panels, a warning to the player to not step on them, something to help the player. It's most notiable when you fight FireMan and he uses the Fire-arm attack. its not really seen in outside Battle Network 1, so in later games the orange/yellow panels could just be carry overs, done to keep everything consistant across games but go unused for the most part. Though I think its in other Battle Network games when you fight Bass and he uses energy sparks that goes across the screen but could be mis-remembering it.

BN1 This MegaBuster chip maybe was a default chip that has cooldown so people use it as it is full since in the main game the only way to use the charge shot was to upgrade the buster once and doing pitfull damage... maybe it was the precursor of the charge shots of the styles elements since you have the element armours and maybe it was meant to be changed but got scrapped due to space limitations.. BN2 I think the debug feat the slowdown slrint was a anti piracy method unused since the real ant piracy method was to have a rndm enc every step BN3 It has the most unused content since that even the developers said from interviews of BN4 that they made it more chibi and with black outlines to save memory space and BN3 was meant to have much more content.
