There is another possibility - our thoughts are shaped by extreme trauma experienced before the mind developed. Because we were not self aware when we are initially traumatized, and our parent’s own extreme peri-natal is triggered by babies crying for no apparent reason, Our parents pass on neurotic self soothing behaviors that maintain a barrier between our conscious ego, and the pre-rational grief and fear that pervades our societies.
