Getting excited the more i watch this 😃 Started to come up with a fun idea for how to house the colony vertically in all my now spare bamboo tubes either all coming back to a central hub in an outworld or maybe just linked up with lots of tubing.Not got past the day dreaming stage yet 😅

They don't mind splitting up so would utilise all the nest space eventually :) gave them some sugar water and flys earlier 😜

excellent care video ,other the escape potential they sound fun to keep .

I probably exaggerated it tbh, if I did the same with the pheidoles 400 would escape, I just am not careful with the tetras because they always come back and don't really bother trying to keep them in to much

Can this species create mor queens if there is only one queen to begin with
@Antymatters
@Antymatters 2 жыл бұрын
I believe its possible, goes a little like , queen lays princess, princess remains infertile, has male drone babies, male drones fertilise the future princesses

Just caught a queen from nuptial flight a few days ago, she quickly shed her wings and laid eggs the next day! I have fed her a tiny drop of honey as she’s semi clastural, but may I know if protein is needed during the founding stage? Thank you!
@Antymatters
@Antymatters 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah theyl need a little bit of protein. Theyl take pretty much anything from flys to chicken. If you have just a queen and know where some wild tetras are you could pinch 1 or 2 workers and put them with her. Theyl likely accept her and help her found

Sometimes it happens and I'm not 100% sure why. Ants rulings colony has been doing the same and never really taken root, just bouncing from place to place. Wish I could help but I'm still not sure what causes the behaviour

im going to buy a colony of these ant s and could u give me any tips:)
@Antymatters
@Antymatters 2 жыл бұрын
Well for maximum growth they like 25c, cocoroaches are there favourite but theyl eat most proteins, I'd give them all they can eat and swap it out every couple days. They love to commit regicide and kill queen's but don't worry it's normal. Check out my site amtymatter.com for the biggest "small" colonys about. Currently 10% off with code welcome10

@@Antymatters Alright. I plan on buying myself a colony. Any tips on what nests I should start with for them? I'm thinking of going with wakooshi.
@Antymatters

Heya, I'd say go with a venus nest, mine really enjoyed there venus nest, if it wasn't such a great nest they could have kept it but other colonys required it. There a super little nest though and my girls really flourished in there.
