I'd like to know how to stack so fast in Tetris 99. Is it by tapping that fast or holding the key when the blocks need to be placed near/at the walls? I've heard about the charged DAS but is that it? Or is there more to the finesse in Tetris 99? It's really hard to get such answers.
@ThatLuckyBear5 жыл бұрын
Mostly (at first) it's learning finesse. Memorizing and practicing the most efficient movement for every possible placement for each piece type is a lot of work. Then you practice setups so you can learn to see without looking. Slowly you learn to assess the field less and less. Eventually you don't think even think about pieces, only the strategy of their placement. It's a long road.
@jericrocamora23414 жыл бұрын
Learn how the pieces rotate, sometimes they move, for example if you you move an I-piece all the way to the right to where it hits the wall while it is horizontal, then let go of the directional input and then rotate counterclockwise, the expected landing area will be the third column from the left, whereas if you did clockwise it would be 2 from the left and if you kept holding right after pressing the button you get all the way to last column.
Doremy, do you have any quick advice for a newbie who doesn't recover particularly well from mis-drops? :D "Plug up hole" as best as you can doesn't seem to be the only step that you take...

@kelleroid5 жыл бұрын
@@FunZies. so I rewatched those parts a couple times. My guess is Doremy took a quick glance at the next section containing two O's that were quickly put over the existing well. Amemiya was low enough on the board to just start building new tetrises on top of the stack.

FunZies My (very limited) understanding is that in general it is best to send small lines over tetrises (tetri?) I forget the reasoning for it, though.
@jericrocamora23414 жыл бұрын
Think more horizontally, at 1:03 the board is accommodating to the kind of "sideways stack" (that's how I like to approach a misdrop) that Doremy did not necessarily to "plug up the hole" per se, but more like they were simply removing the obstacles in the way of the holes so that they could get to them.
