hi i guess i'm still alive
would be a waste not to upload this, right? ☄️
got four other times before deciding to upload this one (from 20m57s to 20m05s)
this is equivalent of clearing 40 lines (sprint) in 35 seconds, but the same speed is applied for nearly 20 minutes if my calculations are correct.
overall very optimized run, though there are still a couple of stages with unfortunate stacking. wondering if a sub-19 is possible lol

Honestly the speed isn't even the most impressive part (but it is HELLA impressive), it's the consistency I've done a few 1000L sprints (which is still a few hundred less than this) and I play at basically .5 pps slower than normal, man's keepin it consistent all the way through, amazing

Is sub-19 possible? I was wondering the same thing, and I’d say it could be likely to happen if you (or someone else) can pull off a cleaner run overall! Makes me interested in seeing a TAS of this game, thinking of it… Impressive stuff as always Doremy!

i think it could also be done at human level if they atleast 6-3 for 98% of the time and no misdrops/effecient misdrop fixing

There was a lot of mistakes in this run so it should be possible to save 30 seconds, but on the other hand it's 20 minutes of pure focus, pattern recognition, timing and fast button presses.

Haven't watched it fully yet, but did he use zone? Because iirc zone doesn't contribute to the line clears of the stages. So a no zone run would be the most optimal right..? Only speedrunning the line clears?

Yes, an optimal journey mode speedrun does not voluntarily use zone at all, and neither did Doremy do so in this run. However, there is a secret mechanic at the final stage where the player enters a minute of unlimited zone when they finish the whole journey mode in one sitting, so any journey mode speedrun will always be forced to use zone at the end of the playthrough.

@@curry_7810 That's why the Speedrun rules are that it uses the ingame time, and the time that counts is what the timer reads once you clear the 90th line, just before you enter the infinizone. It's pretty nice that they took that into consideration.
