I have recently started playing tetris on my 3ds and I noticed that for me the most difficult part of the game is being capable of removing all the junk I create. When the speed gets out of hand, I misjudge my pieces all the time (especially the L-pieces) and instead of gracefully erasing the gaps, I create a swiss cheese.
@Jimmy_1476 жыл бұрын

How do you normally fall into situations where you need to use a spin? So as I understand, normally you're trying to avoid creating situations where you need to use a spin if there's a easier conventional way. But sometimes there isn't an easier way and creating a situation where a spin is needed is the next best option. Seeing those patterns and how they arise would be really helpful. Such as maybe the common setups you might run into that would put into a situation where you would need use a particular spin? Such as you have this generic play-field with a particular feature, you get a specific block that doesn't conveniently fit anywhere, but placing it in this feature of the playfield will yield a setup for a spin that once executed will make your playfield good again.
@miconia6 жыл бұрын
SpiderWaffle If you are playing a Tetris game such as Puyo Puyo Tetris, spins are essential for high-level play. They are one of the most efficient ways of creating garbage Tetriminos, and of your and outside observer, it's very pleasing to the eyes.

Well he's the best NES Tetris player I don't know if he would be as good in a modern tetris championship with like puyo puyo tetris or TGM because players who are more experienced in modern tetris are pretty fast and they would probably wreck him but I think jonas should try a more modern version of tetris so we can see how good he is at it

curious if i could pick your brain a little... I started building a tetris table a few months ago and became obsessed with classic tetris so I wanted to build my table as similar to classic NES tetris as I could (with a few exceptions)... but I don't have an NES and I am unsure how close the emulators are... 1. does the 'A' button spin the piece clockwise? or counter clockwise? 2. the z, s, and i piece don't seem to actually rotate a full 360*... they seem to just rotate once then rotate back.. is this true? 3. do the controller buttons have any sort of debounce? 4. at what point does the music speed up/slow down? 5. how exactly are the points scored when you press down? it isn't multiplied by level (like lines and tetrises) correct? I got that it has to do with how many spaces it is moved down.. but it seems to cap at 10 fora bit then proceed again? 6. the RNG... you mentioned it will re-roll if the next piece is the same as the current... this only happens once? 7. you can't actually hold the rotate buttons to constantly rotate the piece like holding the left and right.. is this correct? I think that is all i can remember at the moment. Would super appreciate it if you could fill me in... A big recent fan. Been watching TONS of your videos

The O spins differently from the other pieces. They always rotate around a block of the piece whereas the O rotates about its true centre which is not a block...
