Roxas and Xion ending showed us in KH2 and Days was perfect, imho fanservice just destroyed that storyline. The all point behind replicas in KH3 was pretty awful.

this is great I definitely love that he listens to the fans I do understand if there are some things he can't change for plot reasons but I above that he brought back Roxas and Xion cause of the fans watching the Ice Cream Trio come scene in KH3 really made me happy and I was crying seeing them together again and I never thought about how Riku just gave a keyblade to Kairi but I do now wanna see that story unfold cause we need more character development for her so I am really happy that we will be getting that at a later point

@@jenievangelou1359 This exactly. Its good that he listens to fans, but it should only be about things like gameplay or structure. Like how he should learn from how people didn't like that most of KH3's story was all at the end. But when it comes to the story and the characters, he shouldn't really change the way he decided to take them, based on fan's tastes. Like Jeni said above, its 99% likely that Roxas and Xion will be completely irrelevant going forward, or barely appear at all, because now we know they were apparently not "meant" to come back. So now we'll eventually reach a state where people will complain that Nomura's not doing anything with these fan-favorite characters.

As much as I wanted the trio to come back as well the way they went about it was just.......messed up imo. Its plot holes within plotholes and confusion now. Some of it made sense while the majority didn't and if thats the case I really think he shouldn't have listened to the fans on that one.

Thoretical questions: - If the tutorial takes place after KH3, would that mean he’s en route to Quadratum by the time the tutorial takes place? - Based off the fact that the Darkside still has black hands and feet while becoming translucent everywhere else, could that mean that the Darkside is ALSO en route to Quadratum? IE could that mean that the Darkside in the KH4 trailer is THE SAME ONE in the KH3 tutorial? - Unrelated, but is Sora wearing the same outfit that his toy version in the Toy Box world was designed with in the KH4 trailer? I like to think Demyx is a student of Skuld or Ephemer. If not, he may be resident residing in Luxord's world. It is possible both of them do not know each other (given we have no evidence or much to no interaction between them) but simply crossed paths by Xemnas.

I think Demyx is no one or rather a blank slate to be used in the future. This series has taken sharp turns for instance KH BBS and KHUX both were introduced with completely new characters and it could very well happen again. So s blank is an excellent method to knot a new line together heck we are getting missing link so maybe he is tied to that game.

I'm still on board with Demyx being the MoM, I'm kinda biased because he's one of my favorite characters in the org but it's just so weird how especially his mannerisms and ways of express himself are so close to the MoM and we all know how Nomura loves to give that kind of personality traits to all the characters. Also once we finally knew who Luxu was if you replay all the series everything Braig/Xigbar says have a lot of different meanings and I'd love to discover new meanings in old games the same way!

I find it odd that he said he didn't originally want to bring back Roxas and Xion. Mostly because every game after Days alluded to bringing them back, starting with the BBS blank points ending and Coded took this further about Sora saving them from their fates. So he probably made that decision immediately after Days since it was obviously planned and foreshadowed for years.

@@JoelBurger Well, happy ending doesn’t necessarily mean them coming back physically. For instance, Lea revived his relationship with Xion through Kairi. They grew so close that bringing Xion back felt redundant. And when Lea saw Ventus in Yen Sids tower, he expected Ventus to remember him as Axel. No need to bring a Roxas back.

@@GG-zc7uu But Kairi isn't Xion, just as Roxas became his own person and not just a part of Sora. That's what had been stressed time and time again post-KH2, likely out of a frustration for how breezily KH2 itself treated Roxas/Namine returning to Sora/Kairi as "natural" when we had seen them be their own people with their own thoughts and feelings. Treating them as "redundant" is not only really callous, but runs contrary to basically everything the games tell you post-KH2 (especially Days), and is something Sora himself reiterates at multiple points. There is no "happy ending" for them that involves settling on being a part of somebody else, when they could be their own people and live their own lives.

Even though Roxas is one my favorites, I do sometimes think it might have been better if he and Xion didn't come back. Terra made sense because he was still there possessed and they just had to free him, it was also a main plot point of the Xehanort story. But with Roxas and Xion it always felt very...fanservicey. Because there really wasn't any story reason for them to be back. The thing is, even though Nomura will probably still try to have them do something at one point, since they were technically never meant to come back, and only did due to fan-request, then I don't think it'll be as big or significant as some people may want, and we'll reach that typical issue where a fanbase complains about their favorite characters not getting to do much. My point is that sometimes its better to let go of characters who've successfully completed their role (like you said with Roxas), instead of piling up more and more characters who, as the story advances and their roles finish, will probably just be relegated to the background, to the ire of their fans. This is just my opinion though. I've seen it happen in so many series to not mention it. On that note, and even though I know a lot of people will probably not like me for saying this, I 100% believe that one of the biggest cases of Nomura doing what you said and changing something big due to fan-request, was making Kairi start training to become Keyblade master. I definetly think Kairi wasn't originally meant to be a fighter character at all, which explains why her random keyblade scene in KH2 seems so out of nowhere now. Because it was just meant to be a fun one-time thing for fans, and not a setup to becoming an actual wielder going forward. Now Im sure Nomura will NOW come up with a reason to explain it in hindsight, but I think most of us know it likely wasn't something that was planned from back then. He's only now being forced to address it because after he sucumbed to people's complaints of Kairi not being a fighter (which she didn't need to be btw), then its changed from a cute one-time nod that didn't need an explanation, to an ongoing arc of the story, that NOW needs to be explained.

Yup, it’s nice to know Nomura actually looks at fan feedback but him saying that he caters that much to fan wishes is particularly worrying in a story like kingdom hearts where you have so many pieces and concepts weaving together to form a narrative and therefore forefront planning is very important to quality. I wish he could listen to fans more in the context of his storytelling structure (for example to avoid what happened in KH3 where basically the bulk of the actual story was all relegated to the very end of the game while most of the game length was disney fanservice)

@@-Seaheart- Exactly. Fan feedback should matter in terms of gameplay or structure, like your example of most of KH3's story happening in the end. But when it comes to the story itself...fans shouldn't really have an input in where he takes it and the characters. That's how you end up flooded with incosistencies and irrelevant plot threads. I stand by my point that people will eventually regret Nomura having made Kairi a fighter. Since she was never meant to be one, then I doubt he has anything substantial planed for it, and people will just keep getting dissapointed whenever she attempts to do it, even though it was their own fault for forcing him to change something he didn't need to. People are now excited because she's training with Aqua, but its was the same thing when she started training with Yen Sid and Lea, wasn't it? Imo fans just need to accept that not all of Nomura's decisions will appeal to them, and just learn to enjoy the greater narrative. Not all characters are meant to be fighters.

Even her receiving the Keyblade from Riku was just to show she wasn't going to sit on the sidelines while her friends left home, risking their life. That's literally her whole plot point, trying to do something while being powerless. There's no indication she's meant to remain powerless either.

I genuinely don’t know how I feel about knowing the fact that there was gonna be a route where Roxas and Xion never came back into the story. Because like? If not what was Lea gonna do? His whole point for wanting a keyblade was to bring his friends back, if he couldn’t achieve that in whatever ending Nomura had planned I wonder what he would have Lea do? I am kinda sad that even though Roxas and Xion got their happy ending, knowing that they weren’t even gonna make a return then that means their story is ultimately over and we won’t be seeing them in future titles. I have to think not, because if we are going to get more backstory on Lea and Isa and that mysterious girl they were friends with, (ie maybe him and Isa going off and trying to find her again or something) I have to hope that Roxas and Xion wouldn’t let their friend go, even though they know that Lea can take care of himself, I have to think Roxas and Xion wouldn’t just stay in Twilight Town while Lea and Isa either was still hung up on this girl or went on this possible adventure and that they wouldn’t try and help in some shape or form

Well. If Roxas and Xion never returned then Nomura would have had to develop Lea and Isa’s backstory a LOT better in the dark seeker saga, and not save it for the next arc. because Lea would have saved Isa and gone home with him. I never liked how Saix/Isa got treated in KH3. It seemed like he was just as possessed as Terra, but Lea never saved him and he was treated like an afterthought. It never made sense for Lea to “end up” with Roxas and Xion imo. The age gap made it too weird.

@@Ryusola maybe but Axel’s whole goal was to save his friends, even before the concept of saving Xion and Roxas came about and fans wanted a better ending for them and Nomura decided to give the fans what they wanted, it was already hinted at that was his goal looooong before then. So it’s obvious saving his friends was Axel’s goal To not have it pay off would have been a real let down for Axel seeing as his main duty has always been to his friends. Plus Axel being the only one to permanently lose his best friends when Aqua, Terra and Ven got to reunite would have been a slap in the face

The idea was he just wasn't listening to reason anymore because he went into his berserk mode which is something he did of his own free will. From Axel's perspective Saix actively chose to stay with the org and go into his berserk form of his own free will. So there was no one to save in the first place, if he changed his mind that would be nice, but Axel couldn't force him to leave the org. Also Axel's friendship with Xion and Roxas is ok idk what you mean, because he's like an older brother to them which works because they have no actual older siblings or parents of their own to look out for them.

@@acryl3626 He was Norted, of course he was meant to be possessed. Xehanort puts "the exact same heart and mind" in his vessels. Saix acted nothing like Isa in BBS and was pretty much a Xehanort clone regarding his personality. Again, it was a PLOT TWIST. Back when Days came out, the audience didn't know he was Norted and we were supposed to hate him and just think he changed on his own (like Axel did). Then when we saw his backstory about getting Norted, we'd realize the truth about him. Nomura backpedaled HARD on his original idea for Saix/Isa in KH3.

Having said that, I'm one of those people who sobbed like a little girl when they reunited in KH3..lol. Basically one of my main complaints about KH as a whole is that nobody actually ever dies. If you think about this. If he didn't brought them back we won't have Roxas or Xion, the story would goes with Lea and Isa instead. There are options that came from those. It all have impact to the story. Some ppl preferred them not return so they were right about Nomura's first plan. But in case of fan services, I do loved seasalt trio return and have moment :)

In his story in the Character Files, Demyx mentioned "that old guy" telling him "May your heart be your guiding key." So he isn't the Master, but it seems as though he knew the Master. With Xehanort's hair, was Nomura referring to him going BALD! BALD! BALD! BALD! MY EYES! or was he referring to his hairstyle change? I mean, I had thought he just got a different haircut. But this is the guy who changed Riku's hairstyle by throwing a Demon Tower at him. (Speaking of which, I personally prefer Riku with shorter hair, specifically KH1 and KH3 styles.)

I think the fanbase is kinda split in 2 factions when it comes to the roxas and xion storyline In 1 side we have the side that just want to see the characters they like have the happy ending after all the struggle they went through On the other side there is people like me, who didn't want them to come back because characters like roxas and xion because we rather experience a storyline with a little more ' spice and flavor ' roxas and xion were tragic characters, victims of the organization XIII and xehanorth's plans and that what made their storylines so much more memorable , and made sora's fight against the organization that more personal for us the players Bringing them back and taking away the tragic elements of KH kinda takes away the emotional stakes and investment in the story, no wonder half the fanbase gave up on the story at this point

I wonder if Luxord's somebody will become an ally to Sora in Quadratum. Knowing his character's personality, I don't really think he'll be an antagonist, but maybe moreso one of those quirky, cool characters that could help Sora in the story. It would also be cool to see both him and Sora play a friendly game of cards too, just like how Sora promised Luxord at the end of his fight in KH3.

It makes sense that they weren't originally intended to return. Axel, Xion, and Roxas (Twilight Trio) was supposed to be replaced with Lea, Isa, and Subject X (Radiant Trio). Now that both Roxas and Xion are back it makes the RT kind of awkward.

I would say that its thanks to Nomura and DDD that this stupid premise was concieved. They weren't meant to come back and introducing time travel into KH destroyed any semblance of a decent story. It's like using Edo in Naruto except Jiraya is there too. It was supposed to mean something when the nobodies went back to their owners. I also don't like the growing of hearts. Both points undermine previous games. It also makes becoming a Nobody superfluous. If new people can be created from removing hearts and they're effectively the same person with the ability to control lesser nobodies and teleport wherever they want then wtf is the problem. Why is this war even happening.

@@stevenhiggins3055 There's nothing wrong with bringing back popular characters who got an unsatisfying ending, if it's done properly. I was fine with Roxas coming back because he never truly felt like he was a part of Sora and more like his own person. And that seemed to be the whole reason that Nomura created Ventus, a character who shared a heart with Sora, but was still his own person in the end. It's pretty obvious that Ventus was meant to be the "real" Roxas. If Roxas was revived it would have been through Ventus (who retained Roxas's memories). My big problem is that KH3's story was structured around this whole concept, but it was changed at the last minute and everything became a total mess.

@@GG-zc7uu Ventus was never intended to be Roxas. Even during BBS's original development. Before BBS itself released Nomura made it clear that the characters were completely new in an interview. He also went on to say Ventus and Roxas were not the same, and people would have to play BBS to basically figure out what was going on. It always was basically just a way to just get people curious about the story of BBS.

My only problem with the whole “Not bringing back Roxas” statement is that Nomura has not been conservative at all with showing him off throughout the series (after KH2, we have Coded and DDD), and it also makes sense in lore for why Xion and Roxas would be a live. The whole reason why DDD (and by Extention the “Real” Organization) is able to exist is because Nobodies are able to have hearts, just not their original one. Xemnas specifically needed a heart in order for him to return, since that is the rule of time travel: a heart is needed and a Replica ready and waiting for a physical form. Even the other organization members who aren’t a form of Xehanort, they became Nobodies once again so they could harbor Xehanorts heart. Regardless of whether or not Roxas were to “come back”, he’s still living in the sense that he got his own heart and its inside Sora’s. So if Ventus can come back, why would it have not been the same for Roxas in a Replica?

I've gotta be honest, as a huge Roxas fanboy I think I would have preferred Roxas staying gone. I was pretty annoyed how much the lead up to kh3 implied that Riku and Aqua were going to be so important in the fight against Xehanort. Now i'm sure someone can tell me i'm missing something that happened offscreen or whatever but it really felt like all they did was take massive Ls. I'd prefer Roxas' story just be neatly closed and wrapped than potentially knowing in the back of my mind he's just there not being used or being written out of the main plot for convenience. Just like Sora was there when Riku's Keyblade first emerged, Kairis keyblade just manifested during that flash and ended up in Riku's head instead because he came in contact with her heart. In other words, we were playing as a random Keyblade wielder someone possessed by a Darkness elemental from the very beginning of the first Chi[x] browser game, which would be wild enough to fit Nomura’s statement about the Player in relation to Dark Road.

One of the biggest weaknesses of the KH games is how they phrase certain lines, and while I’m unsure on how big a problem that is in the original Japanese dub (which needs a proper English sub translation) it's most certainly an issue in the actual English dub. For example, Xemnas telling Axel "Your Keyblade is no-more" is just straight up misleading, which leads up to several inconsistencies from the players perspective. I just can't understand why the writers would miss something that would clearly confuse fans. It would have made way more sense had Xemnas said something like "Don't even bother re-summoning that fragile excuse of a Keyblade".

I think that maybe the original plan was that Roxas might not have wanted to come back to life. All his existence, Roxas was never given a choice of what he wanted to do. Sora’s heart might be in the right place since Roxas did seem to be hurting, but our protagonist bringing Roxas back was something Sora personally wanted. No one asked Roxas whether he personally wanted to come back or if he merely wanted closure. Even in the final version of KH3 & Re:Mind, the only reason Roxas asked Sora to free him was to save Lea/Axel and Xion rather than anything relating to a second chance at life. I’m pretty sure that if one were in the position to be saved from the grave that they’d want a say in it if they were able to do so. Based on that logic, don’t you think Roxas deserves a say on where his journey ends?

A couple of theories that go along with the Q&A. 1) Nomura’s earlier route of NOT bring Roxas and Xion back, might have something to do with our benchwarmer duo. Demyx and Vexen were most likely going to fill out the XIII, but because of “loads of people rooting” for their return, he made the benchwarmers vital to getting Roxas, Xion, and Namine back. They would have been the back up plan or nothing. 2) interesting to think Ephemer’s legacy would be to establish SAC, but also maybe to revive his dear friend along with the others lost to Daybreak Town massacre…maybe the player in Missing Link is the back up of the player’s data. 3) A World of… Well we established fiction and Quadratum were already referenced, but much like the other realms we visited, ie. The World of Light, Dark, Between… maybe the reference mark refers to something no one in Kingdom Hearts has conceived…A World of Death.

Man what I think with scene of Yozora winning is what they gonna use in KH4. So I’m what thinking they’re going to do is just like in KH2 with Roxas, it’s going to be a prologue of Yozora gameplay for about 3-6 hours. And then at the end of the prologue, he will face and beat Sora declaring him the winner while showing the Sora crystallized. After that both him and Sora will say “I been having these weird thoughts lately” which segue into the trailer we gotten for KH4 of Sora waking up. That would be so perfect to start off KH4.

I still think the losing ending definitely has some meaning, tbh I think the real Sora actually lost but the other part of his heart that he lost which still has the power of waking actually defeated Yozora. And that the price of abusing the power of waking means he'd be split into 2 versions of himself and both teleported to different final worlds and as for how Yozora got to both versions perhaps it has something to do with his multicolored eyes, the real one went to the real Sora and with the help of Strelitzia he got a clone to the other piece of Sora which defeated his clone. The real Sora crystallized due to not having that piece of hid heart and was starting to die so Yozora saying "I will save you." gave Sora a piece of his own heart which teleported Sora to Quadratum where Strelitzia found his pale body asleep in the rain and dragged him in the house and bathed him and changed his clothes with some of Yozora's hand me downs, while Sora went through the kh3 tutorial. Then the next day Sora sensed Kairi was in danger and saved her leading her to the portal that Yozora left behind in the real final world which Riku opened and I think arrived 3 days before Sora woke up. The Sora part of Riku's dream was the other Sora who still has the power of waking dreaming about the place where the real Sora is and it happened during the 3 days Sora was asleep when Riku arrived. Then the real Sora finally began to wake up and darkside started forming due to Sora's darkness that he still holds onto (the rage form) and once Sora fully awake thanks to the sun darkside finished forming and Sora jumped down trying to save the people like always, reaching for his keyblade nor sure if it would answer him but thankfully it did and thanks to the piece of Yozora's heart inside of Sora he is now able to turn hid Keychain into a hookshot dawning the same symbol as the grappling hook Yozora uses in his fight to steal the kingdom key for 2 minutes. All of thus is also related to the quote in the trailer "the heart resides in the soul, which in turn is guided by fate back to it's rightful place." Which is referring to the other Sora who still has the power of waking (Copy Sora let's make it easier) finding his way to the real Sora and rejoining with him after Demex leads the FF7/8 team in the right direction with data telling them to look into data Sora's code instead to find an anomaly meanwhile Riku with Yozora and his crew find the real Sora, with Donald and Goofy in endore or a marvel world. This would add to Demex being a important character, he's not the master of masters but is a being who knows more than he says but hates hurting others much like his elemental power of water and the 7 hearts that are needed to save are Sora (as in reuniting him with the copy power of waking half of himself.), Strelitzia, Ava, Yozora (giving him back the piece of his heart that's inside Sora), Yozora's girl, Sigurd, and Lushu and the voice in the kh3 tutorial is Empher leading back to the union cross segment in Kh3 but that's my theory at least. (I would go further and say the title "Birth by sleep" was foreshadowing this entire arc of 2 Sora's [thanks to my brother thinking that] but that might be stretch.) Edit: I also think Sora's quote in the kh3 intro "They can take your world. They can take your heart. Cut you lose from all you know but if it's your fate then every step forward is another step closer to home." Is going to be something the real Sora is going to say in kh4 as the voice in that quote and the voice in the limitcut episode are the same and we know limitcut and melody of memories take place after the 1 year skip.

I also just thought about this but if I'm right about Demex pointing them towards copy Sora's location they might look for someone to find him but Kairi will be training with Aqua but if we remember they said the days trio was searching their memories for Sora so I think Roxas and Lea/Axel will volunteer to go and find this copy Sora and bring him to the real Sora hence their outfits in the super groupies promo art, it would also explains their poses in said art because Roxas is suppose to be looking at him Lea looks away a little embarrassed, I think Xion will probably come along knowing how insufferable those 3 are. This would also add to the whole 2 Quadratums theory as well as elaborate on the existence of data worlds. So in conclusion there are 2 Sora's, the real Sora lost and started fading away due to missing a piece of his heart so Yozora gave Sora a piece of his own heart to substitute and sent him to the Real Quadratum meanwhile Copy Sora (the piece of Sora's heart that's missing) defeated Yozora's clone. The real Yozora then left the real final world leaving behind the portal in melody of memories. Meanwhile when the real Sora arrived in Quadratum, Strelitzia took him in, took of his dirty old PJS and gave some of Yozora's old clothes all while he was asleep speaking with Empher going through the kh3 tutorial segment. Then Sora sensed Kairi was in danger and fought on her behalf which lead her to Yozora's portal where Riku opened it arrived in Quadratum 3 days before Sora woke up meanwhile Copy Sora had dream about Quadratum. Then Donald and Goofy find Hades who helps them find Auron or Cloud, who helps them find a way to the real Sora and they inform him to take the gummy ship back and tell Yen Sid where they went. Demex meanwhile informs the FF Radiant Gardens group about where to look inside the data which gave them a lock on a anomalous code which turned out to be a piece of Sora's heart. The Days Trio then woke up and were ready to report back about not finding anything until hearing about this development and instead volunteered go and find this piece of Sora's heart, allowing them to end up in the data final world where they found a dark portal leading to a data Quadratum, which is the Quadratum we saw the Master of Masters in and I'm guessing Copy Sora came across this portal and went to see the other side hoping it would take him home, still not realizing that he isn't the real Sora and now The Days Trio is searching for Copy Sora. I think The Days Trio is gonna be what gets Copy Sora to the real Sora at the end of the game using their connection to open a gate to the real Sora and Riku who would be on some star wars or marvel world with Donald, Goofy, Yozora and his crew. Finally letting the Sora's meet and become one once more thus saving heart number 1 (Sora) and then Sora would give Yozora back the piece of his heart that he lent him. Then they would go back Quadratum and find Strelitzia, then Riku uses the power of waking to open a gate between the world of unreality and reality that Yozora and his crew cam uses whenever they want and Yozora and Luxord come with Sora, Riku, Strelitzia, Donald, and Goofy to Radiant Gardens as they begin putting everything together coming up with a plan to save the nameless star with Demex finally saying he knows how and what's going, meanwhile kh4's secret cutscence plays having the Master of Masters talk about how everything is going according to his plan "my son is whole again and they are all trying to save the rest of the hearts" as he takes off his hood revealing that he's Sora's dad the whole time.

The answer to the "melting heart" situation keeps me on the edge. I'm starting to think that the Xehanort that we defeated is a Nobody of the Xehanort that is still influenced by the Player. We know that Nobodies can develop hearts, so if the real Xehanort's/Player's heart is freed at the end of Dark Road, and what remains in the Nobody Xehanort is the Darknesses that the Player trapped inside him, it's gonna be huge. That'd also explain why this new Xehanort would be down to do fucked up shit to others. KHUX's ending also does hint at the "Oath To Return" and so far we've seen that there's a possibility for everyone in KHUX to return.

@@alialatrach9788 Yes they do. Ienzo/Zexion is a prime example. Ienzo was a child when he became a Nobody. By the time of CoM, Zexion was a young adult. Remeber that the founding members of the Organization (Nos. 1-6) became Nobodies just a year after BbS, about the same time Radiant Garden fell to darkness and became Hollow Bastion. Not to mention, Namine clearly grew several inches in the year between CoM and KH2, as in both games she's only slightly shorter than Sora, and roughly the same height as Kairi.

(Tragedy Contentment) I wouldn't have minded if the Sea Salt Trio; meaning just Roxas and Xíon, were doomed not to return. I loved that 358/2 Days into the intro of KH2 (and Axel's struggle to bring Roxas back) was a tragedy of sorts- In general, I love when otherwise light-hearted projects show they're unafraid to introduce tragic elements. The truth of the matter is that neither Roxas nor Xíon were meant to exist- particularly in Roxas's case for having a body despite Sora and Ventus's bodies still being present elsewhere. (Vessel Tangent) As far as I know, the body / empty shell WAS the Nobody, whereas the heart went off to become the Heartless, so I always was quite curious what Roxas's specific circumstances were in that regard. "Where did Roxas attain a vessel to exist in the first place?", I suppose would be the question I'd ask. I guess the simple answer would be that the Nobody just "spawns" in, using the original shell as a sort of template. I doubt it, but it could very well be as simple as that and I may just be forgetting a lot of information regarding Nobodies... (Tragedy Contentment, Continued) -and anyway, I know that the whole point of 358/2 Days; The tragic journey of Roxas and Xíon, was essentially finding their own identities and becoming themselves; despite that not initially being the case at all, so I get why it would be demanded that they have their happy ending. I just personally feel like they reached that goal by making the heroic sacrifices they did. Especially Xíon, in having been totally forgotten. That was a beautiful, masterfully told story, in my opinion. -and sure, I do love the teases we get of Roxas and Xíon (having become a part of Sora himself and his retaining some of their memories as a result) in titles afterwards, but I'd still appreciate and understand if that was all they were: Glimpses into the deepest chasms of Sora's heart, to what indefinitely exists there. Memories, experiences, entire lifetimes; despite how short, that Sora; in a twisted, horrifying sense, technically lived through. It makes sense that they're there. It makes sense that they're with him- and I would have loved Kingdom Hearts 3 even still if the fights with Saïx and Xemnas were fought through Sora, alone, but with the aggressions and experiences of Roxas and Xíon combined- and moreso if Axel were with him, imagining or seeing his friends in his spirit and mannerisms. Not being Roxas or Xíon, but being like them in that they are all one. (Vessel Tanget, Continued) Update on Roxas's vessel though: I'm realizing now that we don't actually see Ventus between 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts 2, so is it possible Roxas was using Ventus's body and that when it came time to return it; like how the Organization members ended up back at Radiant Garden, Ventus (Roxas ceasing to occupy him) simply ended up back in The Chamber of Waking? I feel like that's the more complicated answer to my question which would make sense in Kingdom Hearts's context and history of being convoluted. -and since the Roxas existing now is technicaly a combination of the residual datascape version of himself and a mere replica, it can be said that; both, Roxas is still a part of Sora, and that the currently "existing" Roxas is, like Replica Riku, a mere copy. As well as that the Xíon currently existing was taken from the past and put into a replica- which is to say that she, too, is still a part of Sora and that the Xíon currently "existing"; not a "copy" but (and despite still being a "puppet") doesn't physically belong in that universe, so to speak... (Breaking "Hearts") If any of that holds up, you can say I "saved" the trio's tragedy, right? I mean- Roxas can't exist any more otherwise, but accepting his "current" form would be like saying Repliku IS Riku, wouldn't it? Just data and memories of what once was, inserted into a puppet... That's not to say that Repliku didn't exist as his own person, but... he wasn't Riku- So Reploxas isn't Roxas. Replíon isn't Xíon. ... Oh, and Naminé, too. Replaminé isn't Naminé.

Small uhm actually. The tears on axels face are actually painted on by himself and it's super sad. After going back to human he decides he doesn't need them anymore. Love the vid. Thnx for all the great updates ^.^
