Tevis trail doesn't go over Donner. This is the section of the start. Before highway 89 crossing leading up into Squaw Valley.

Sorry but you are incorrect. Due to the heavy snowfall on the traditional start site in the 2016-17 winter, the ride started at Soda Springs at Donner Summit. This also happened in 2023.

Donna Fitzgerald would be laughing her ass off at this bunch of tenderfoots.

100 Miles at a trot, omg; time to get a TWH with a GLIDE gait...

FBI. Holland. Unknown. So, the "free horse" was bought with my stolen inheritance. Good. I planned to buy one anyway.

Why are they all awful riders

A mighty difficult trail here in the wee hours of the start. Most endurance riders don't take riding lessons, but they are doing a very good job here.

They’re not, endurance riders don’t usually focus on equitation because they aren’t showing. And longer stirrups are harder to post in, along with the long distances. I ride endurance but I also jump, while my best friend and her mom are doing tevis this year next week on their 11.2 hh pony and 16 huh saddlebred

Trotting downhill over rough terrain on a horse that's conditioned enough to go for 100 miles isn't exactly easy...not the same as riding in a nice arena where there's nothing to throw off your balance.
