@@wrestleblake And thank you for always showing me new and fun stuff to do in this game. Every time I feel like playing TEW but don't know what to play I check your channel for ideas. I downloaded this database because of this series and am currently playing as Tiny Lister who owns WCW.

FYI, a new version of the 92 mod is being released this weekend with several key fixes that will impact a WWF save. For example, Hennig's injury is changed so that he can now participate in angles. And the creative clause is removed from Hogan's contract, otherwise good luck getting him to drop a single match, including the rumble. I know you probably don't want to start over, but a WWF save will be a lot better with the new version.

I should've waited then haha. I've learned my lesson from the WCW 1998 save to pull the creative control from Hogan's contract, so at least we have that going for us. I'd love to have Perfect in the mix sooner though!

I think honestly the issue with this database is that workers are a little under-skilled so that, despite pop, it's so hard to put on really good shows even as big companies

The majority of modern databases have workers way overturned. This is more in line with how the CVerse was made. Between 60-70 is considered good. Starting out shows are always lower than when you get going and get momentum for your guys.

Great start and I like how you are using some of the "current" storylines but also moving along for your own. Can't wait to see what happens in the long run with this. Any thoughts on poaching those, um attitude heavy superstars away from that other so called promotion....

Glad you're enjoying it so far! I always like to do a mix with the storylines since it's fun to have a starting point but also tweak things to fit future storylines. The poaching may have already begun....

Great start, this was "my" era of wrestling. Totally different type of television show than you get today. I really look forward to seeing how you get the other half of the WM main event although I'm with @StraightEdgeJunkie that it's not the best idea, but you are limited on solutions to crowning a new champ from a vacant title, and I guess it makes sense. Why arrange a tournament for it when you have a multi man match coming right up? You've at least put a twist on that.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, like we discussed in the other comment, it’s impossible to replicate the TV presentation exactly as we’d like but gonna try to keep some themes similar (squash matches, promos, etc.). I’m pretty sure the idea to not crown the champ in the Rumble will be obvious after it haha. Figured I’d try something different since there’s no way I could match the greatness of that Rumble in reality. Thanks again for watching!

Haha laughing so hard at this. Even when I try to do short videos, they hit 20+ minutes. Booking 12 segments is totally new! Appreciate you watching as always.

How would you feel about a gimmick tyoe of save where you have to book your user character to have a reign of terror and be the top star. To make this harder you could give the character crappy stats.

That sounds like a fun challenge! I start to many series that I'll probably do it at some point haha.

You know I like your stuff, and I liked this too, but just constructive commenting/food for thought: not the biggest fan of the Rumble situation since it looks like one half of the main event has to go through 29 guys, while the other half will inevitably get off way easier. This is the same issue I have with the Rumble and the Elimination Chamber in real life present day. Of course, I don't know what you have in store, maybe this is addressed. But I also fully understand that you're limited in your options: you don't wanna do what was done in real life, and TEW isn't very flexible with match stips. And another thing. I personally enjoy playing these eras, and I've exclusively played my own mods that have always been 1993 the latest, often earlier. The reason the 70s mod I'm working on is on hold is kinda what is also on display here: this is not how TV worked in the pre-RAW/Nitro days insofar as big stars didn't really do angles and lots of matches on free TV. Superstars was mostly certain upper midcard talent vs. no name jobbers, and then pre-tape backstage promos, and the occasional interview podium live talking segment. And some 80s and pre-80s stuff works even worse. However, this isn't really your fault, TEW just doesn't really "understand" the pre-Monday Night War TV model, and you run into issues trying to simulate things the way they were done. It was even in 1992 a much more live event focused business model. It wasn't really until Nitro in 1995 when the modern TV model really started. It does kill my immersion a little bit, but I'm also not blaming you, it's just that TEW only understands the modern TV model. It's something I've addressed in the Suggestions forum, so maybe some day. It's my biggest wish. Enjoyed the video, still!

Always enjoy your feedback! Like you, I much prefer the old school approach to wrestling but have accepted the limitations of TEW in allowing us to book these shows that way. However, there is something I haven’t mentioned that I’m going to add the monthly schedule that may help somewhat. It won’t fix the Superstars issue, but it’s a way to add more of an old school aspect to the series. On the Rumble decision, yeah, it’s also not perfect. I loved the 92 Rumble and it may be my favorite ever, but I wasn’t always the biggest fan of the most prestigious title being won in a battle royal. Just a personal preference, and like you said, there’s also the idea of wanting to try something different. I’d thought of that potential drawback and don’t love it either. Maybe we can at least make things interesting. Again, appreciate you watching and thanks for the great thoughts on this!

@@wrestleblake Completely unrelated, but since I'm kinda not playing TEW at the moment, I just had a thought in my head that I will do in some save in the future, and thought I'd share if you ever want to use it: a 4vs4 or a 5vs5 as a feature match on some show, and the stakes are that the winning team faces each other in a four or five way for the #1 contender spot later on in a future show. It's sometimes hard to come up with stips for these team matches, so that's something I came up with. For any save, just in general.
@wrestleblake
@wrestleblake 6 ай бұрын
@@StraightEdgeJunkie That’s great. The stipulations are always a challenge for me with those types of matches. That scenario adds an interesting dynamic with people teaming up and knowing their teammates are the ones they have to go though to be the top contender. I like it. On another note, you mentioned the 70s mod and such, which is another area I’d love to explore in this game. But the limitations are even more frustrating then. I’ve been watching a lot of early 80s stuff but know it would be impossible to replicate that in a save.

@@wrestleblake There is PWS as an option. It does these better than TEW when it comes to match gimmicks and angles but all of the depth though is quite barebones so all in all TEW is better but for the specific things mentioned in this thread PWS does seem to solve those problems.

@@danielmason9465 That's a great point and hadn't thought about that. I played around with PWS but haven't jumped into it too much yet. Might have to give it another look.
