Tex Mex Music is really German Oompah Music with a Mexican Twist featuring the Bajo Sexto.

This video takes me back to when I first started playing accordion at 9yrs old in California. My pops bought me this instructional video cause I loved tejano music because of how different the accordion sounded compared to traditional Norteño music. I've been living in TX for 15 yrs now and I'm very proud to live in the birthplace of Tejano music. Flack Jimenez is on my mt. Rushmore of accordion players.

Correction @jerryreyes7235 Puro Conjunto!!! 100% Tejano Citizen from San Antonio, Texas. And I agree with what you said; "So proud of my Roots and Heritage." Absolutely!!! 7:03 Leonardo "Flaco" Jimenez, a very close friend of my father who looked up to my father's accordion style; Legendary Accordion Great Jesse Salas from San Antonio, Texas, since they grew up together as kids in the early 1940s during WWII. ONE OF THE TWO VERY BEST AMERICAN ACCORDIONISTS OF ALL-TIME!!!

this was the only video on how to play a button accordion back in 1995. Today there are a million videos on here.

I suppose I don’t see what difference it makes in the context of listening to music. Are you suggesting that being a Mex-Tex is a necessary requisite to appreciate Tex-Mex music? I’m a bit lost. I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t be proud, I’m sincerely asking why.

4:41 These are actually German Diatonic Accordions made by Hohner and that's because the Europeans took their Accordions with them when they moved to Texas. When the Europeans had their Accordions with them in Texas they would play Music there something like this (Plays Edelweiss from Sound of Music).

I play Keyboards so the Hohner Latino III 72 with 34 Treble Keys seems like a better match because I get the same note on the in and the out which means I'll never run out of air.

@JulioCarrilloMusic7 жыл бұрын
