British Brooks, too. Anyone notice Indy's return man, Gould, wouldn't run it back after he took that lick from Brooks?😂 Everything after was a fair catch or touchback.
@David-bl4trАй бұрын
Sometimes a player may of gotten his bell rung but no quite concussion they use to call it seeing stars. The team prolly did have anybody that the coaches trust so they'll tell to just catch the don't advance it just catch it

Pretty cool to see. My son literally played against him in HS. On O he was a TE and my son played OLB. On D he was a DE and my son was the T. Good kid glad to see him doing well

I use to be on the same team as a linebacker in the nfl. And my best friend in highschool brother was a first rd pick for the bengals. And my teachers daughter who was in my brothers class is dating Patrick Mahones back up.

I see why they let beck go. Stover can be yet another weapon for cj as a fullback. And that also gets stover on the field.
@TxLonghornsFanАй бұрын
That is awesome. Excited to see Stover in this role. When he has a smaller guy he drives him back on the block and when it’s a bigger guy he stands him up and seals him. Either way highly effective.

Being an Ohio State fan is ridiculously fun; in addition to the many very successful seasons, we rarely have losing seasons (the last one was 2011 with Luke Fickell as a last-minute, first-time interim coach, with a freshman QB pressed into duty at the last minute as the result of the starting QB being ineligible due to tattoo-gate-- the last losing season prior to that was in 1988, and the one before that was in 1966). Mostly it's watching the team win almost every Saturday. But one "cry me a river, I wish my team had that problem" downside is that we routinely have players on the team who we *know* could be stars, but there just aren't enough touches to go around, and while they absolutely could be a star, there are 6 people in front of them at various positions who are likely to be even bigger stars. The TE position has been like that for a while: we've had some super talented players at that position, and we hear all spring practice and all summer about how this year is finally the year we get them more involved in the offense, but at the end of the day, how often are you really going to design a play with the TE as the first option when you have our WRs and RBs? I doubt it's a surprise to any tOSU fan that Stover is thriving (so far) in the NFL, but it's not at all apparent how we could have gotten more production out of him in college, without having sacrificed even greater production at the WR position. (Another great example of that is Jameson Williams, who transferred from OSU to star at Alabama-- it's not like the coaching staff didn't realize how talented he was, he was just literally not talented AND experienced enough to crack the starting WR rotation.)

Stover a converted DE...he's still new to the position really. Dude has serious upside

That's Robert Woods delivering the block, right? Our WRs love to block, except for Tank who is exempt this entire year 😂

Reminds me a lot of a Kyle Juszczyk type TE/FB. Demeco coming from that system, I could see why they were in on Stover. They saw that style of player, and I think Stover could develop into that archetype.
@mwilgingАй бұрын
Looking for this comment, was thinking the exact same thing. Both Juszczyk and Stover have that "do anything for the team to win" mentality

I’m just wondering if the Colts sprayed something on that field before the game because I have never seen so many slips on a dry field before. Even the Colts QB slipped right before he hit that first big pass downfield.
@AbigailRTehАй бұрын
Their PR tweeted it was a new turf, made of coconut and cork. Supposed to feel like grass. The paint on the logo though looked like it was coming off. A lot more Colts players were slipping, I thought. It seemed CJ changed from black cleats to army green/Grey ones in the 2nd half.

Stover played FB position, but I'd rather want him to play as TE, and Brooks or Hairston(PS) to fill in FB position. Schultz at FB is the last option. 11:25 the new turf was so slippery other players than Mixon couldn't stay on feet.
@AbigailRTehАй бұрын
Joe Mixon gave him and the other TEs a shout out for their blocking. Really, included the WR group, they blocked as a unit

Why is Schultz playing FB anyway, they should used Brooks. He's proven on special teams to be a hammer and he's bigger faster stronger. He's a vet TE, that I'm sure is not interested in lead blocking, but the younger guys would love to get in there and prove what they can do. I also think it makes the offense more versatile because he can run the ball as well.
@HtownDripАй бұрын
In most cases you block from the inside out, I'm not sure he blocked the right person but good job nonetheless.
