The real San Antonio is not downtown but the Westside and Southside. You want authentic Mexican and Texmex cuisine try that next time and your pocket book won't feel the tourist gouging sting of downtown! Lived here since 1963. It's a wonderful place to live but segregated like most major cities. Thanks for visiting hope you come back!

I was in San Antonio last May and I really liked my time there. Next time get tacos off of a food truck. Sooo delish. The river walk looks a bit more lively when you guys went then when I was there. I went to the Alamo as well and thought it was very interesting. I enjoyed your video !😊

Sweet bread is a Concha. We live in the Texas Hill Country, about 1 hour North West of San Antonio. San Antonio is where we go to shop and eat out on special occasions. Crazy drivers though. Good thing y’all chose cooler weather to do The River Walk. In summer it is too hot and humid to go there!

Conchas are the one with the pink sugar on top of the bread.They also make different flavors and you can get them at mexican bakeries they are sooo good!

The pumpkin empanadas are also go idea to try from the Mexican bakery. My favorite conchas to eat are the white ones, I put them in microwave for 10 seconds and they taste fresh made. When you get a chance try the Mexican candy it’s so good.

I was doing ok with the video until y'all went up the tower. Me and Heights are not amigos. When y'all are at the grocery store look in the "international food aisle" for Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate. It's distributed by Nestlé so you might see it? Mexican hot chocolate has cinnamon. Try the Abuelita chocolate syrup. Really good on ice cream. Can't wait for the next video.

My city!! I live in downtown and I love it! The river walk gets hated on by locals, but it really is gorgeous and super relaxing just to walk around on. Glad y’all got to see the Pearl also. The Japanese Tea Garden is definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in town again (and it’s free!) and breakfast at the Guenther House is a MUST. It’s not Mexican, but it’s so good! Cool history too. There’s honestly way too much good food here to do in a couple days, but I’m glad y’all enjoyed your time here!

San Antonio is my home town. I moved here when we left Germany when I was 6 (I'm 35 now). And while I grew up learning about the history here and visiting all the "touristy" spots. But going to the Alamo and the Institute of Texan Culture remain some of my favorites. Although my personal preferences San Antonio is too big of a city for my liking, but I have deep personal reasons for staying for the time being and do not intend to stay here forever. But I know where ever I can find a nice plot of land somewhere in East Texas (where my husband is from), but San Antonio will always be "home" and hold a special place in my heart. BTW, the pastries that yall got are called a concha (the one with the pink) and I didn't get a good view of but I would assume it was something like an empanada.

Last summer we went to Seaside, FL where they filmed the Truman Show and Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO where they filmed part of Dumb and Dumber… I guess I only end up at Jim Carey movie locations. 😂🤣 love all these drone shots!! Oh did you have any paranormal experiences at the Stanley Hotel? It is on our bucket list. We lived in Colorado Springs CO for a few years, and didn't get the chance to go. And I believe there was a wild fire when we actually had time off to check it out. You're super lucky you got to experience that hotel.

@@annalisahamlett1334 funny you should mention the wildfires…. That trip to Estes Park was postponed twice-once bc of “the virus” and once because of the wildfires!! When we finally went it was so worth the wait though. RMNP and Estes Park are beautiful and we had so much fun. Stanley Hotel was one of the better ghost tours I’ve done, just for the beauty of the building and interesting stories, but I didn’t experience anything paranormal personally. It was totally worth it though. There were elk in the pool grounds area too which was funny to us Missourians. 😂💕

Of course the Alamo looks small. Only a small part of the mission remains. Find out what real missions look like by visiting the others. San Jose especially recommended Lots of fine museums. Art and history. One about Texas Cultures near the restaurant in the tower The city has a fine tourism website for those really interested

I really enjoyed San Antonio when I visited. I'm glad you did the boat tour on the Riverwalk( I did too). I had gone to some multimedia presentation that gave the history of the state and was surprised to learn that Texas at one time was it's own republic. No wonder those Texans are proud. After Riverwalk I recommend a Hop on Hop Off bus to get a general idea of what you’ld like to see. We found the Buckhorn Museum and Bar very interesting, N Flores Street and found the Pinkerton Barbeque restaurant on N Houston Street just off the bus route. Pinkerton’s has a monster good combo platter. Since we were here last time there is now electric Bird scooters to rent on an app, both the kind where you stand or can sit down. Just north of San Antonio they have the best water park in America, Schlitterbahn, in New Brunsfels. Do go! The last ride in there is a 45 minute inter tube float that ends up in the river

Hey guys!! I’m so glad you guys made this video. I’ve had my eye on Austin but San Antonio wasn’t really on my radar. Loved the river walk and boat tour and the Alamo looks like an architects dream. Sorry you didn’t get to have churros while you were there but if you want the best churros go thru the border from Mexico into San Diego. The vendors push carts up and down the lanes with hot fresh churros and fresh squeezed fruit juice. And I’ve got to say you guys and rain have got this love/hate relationship lol!! But as always you guys make the best of it. I hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Oh and side note, I might be calling on you guys for places to stay in Nashville. Airbnb? Hotel? On Broadway? Off Broadway? But for now God bless you both and keep those videos coming!! Can’t wait for state 48!!!
