Still trying to figure out how the SEC review booth interprets Donovan Wilson hitting the SC WR with his chest as targeting. Those guys are embarrassing.

No clue. Looked to me like if any helmet contact was made, it was the side of Wilson's helmet

Here's part of the rule. You decide. More at www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/9/7/12829482/targeting-penalty-rulebook-ncaa-football No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder.

Bryan you are correct. As long as clown boy Steve Shaw is around the rule will be interpreted this way, just not consistently. I think it's awesome that they are trying to mitigate TBI's, I really do. This will be achieved in greater percents with changes to practice routines and equipment. Not by inconsistently singling out random plays where in which a forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder touch another player in the helmet. That is not an officials duty, and it's a damn joke that these clowns can act like targeting by that level of scrutiny is, or ever will be called fairly lest we start seeing 20 ejections per game. An officials main duty is to ensure a fair game in accordance to the rules. That's not what is happening with the targeting rule per the way it reads. Get rid of the rule, or fix it in a manner to where it can be called with consistency. As the rule reads now and with the way it's applied so inconsistently it seems as though the emphasis was never intended for the players or the spirit of the game, but merely as proof against litigation. So that in the future they can say, look we had a rule. It was a good rule, it covered everything. Was it called fairly? Hell no, but the rule was never designed to be called fairly, and until it is it'll be a shit rule. That they have to march silly little milksops like Shaw out there to defend.

Look at 12:50 and tell me that's not targeting In front of the ref, too.

Mond was good in this game... if the ags put a few more things together on offense (eliminate turnovers and penalties) they could put up big points.

Two weeks in a row where a blatant horse collar wasn't called.

Does A&M lead the league in targeting penalties??? This is freakin ridiculous.!!!

I feel like we get one at least once a game. Wilson has 3 just by himself. Not sure why this team is so prone to targeting penalties.

The gamecocks played one of their worst games of the year and lost by 3. Unfortunately against ranked teams is when they choose to play their worst games.

Those refs are garbage frfr 😡

why did you skip thru the penalty replays? the one that called SC an offensive interference was a horrible call.

I'm trying to figure out that dropped interception in the endzone. It looks like Carolina intercepted it but they never looked at it.....
@rgomez7520036 жыл бұрын
They reviewed it but it clearly hit the floor.

They never looked at the last touchdown either. Dude dropped the pass.
