Fellow Texan here! My dad was a hunter and fisherman but old school didn’t teach me (girl) to hunt. Although fishing was a great adventure and I still love outdoors and everything my dad taught me! I love following your family and your adventures ( even though I couldn’t skin and do all that you do, as a hunter) in Alaska and everywhere you are blessed to travel to explore. God is so good and yes, agree that He gives us gifts and prepares us, as we seek His ways, not ours. He is an Amazing God! ❤❤❤

Wonderful bĺessing your post was to me. I have been in the hospital and rehab center every month since Sept. A couple of months I was here the whole month. But all the preceeding words brimg me to the thanķs for your words which made me remember all the things my mom and dad did for me and how I tried to do things with and for my son. Now I am trying to follow my dad's leading in moving into another chapter in my life. Your words made me feel many heartfelt emotions. Thank 7ou very much!

My dear friends in the late 8p's and early 90's owned the "Real Ranch" near Kerrville Texas and they offered guided tours or training every year for Axis Deer, Black Tailed Antelope and Wild Boar. They at one point held a couple of Summer Camps For Both Boys And Girls in which my son was blessed to be a part of... Well he was among the first group to participate in the camp too!!! ❤❤❤

This was such a wonderful and deserved trip for you Joas. I agree with you that God's plan was for you to have this time with your friend TJ to gain peace of mind before your Mom passes. That was a nice visit for you and your host. You have inspired each other. Watching the deer tentatively venture forward out of the bushes was magical. Finally a herd of them gathered to forage. They looked so graceful. The hog pack followed their example. The deer disappeared like smoke at the crack of your shotgun! Prayers for your family at the passing of your precious mother. Take great care of your arthritic big toe. Think of it as a member of your body. It is hurting severely. Time to minister to it. It plays a key part in your ability to walk. The joint is degrading. It won't recover with traumatic force. You can alter your use of it yo stabilize it for many more years of function. I have to manage arthritic hands so I can continue to work in the kitchen. I gave up heavy yard work and uses nut cracker and forcing jars open. Cortisone injections are temporary pain relievers and destructive to joints over repeated injections. Getting the right shoes, resting it and not overdoing use may stabilize it from further destruction. Wishing you the best.

I enjoyed your hunt, glad you were able to get your hog and the black tail. Squirrel is really good. My mom raised 5 of us kids and my uncle was a hunter. He would bring all different kinds of animals home for my mom to cook. Squirrel was one ,rabbits, ducks, even a bear, and of course venison are main ones I remember. I'll say prayers for your mom. Mothers are so special, my mom went to be with our Lord when she was 67, my dad was 45. Cherish each and every moment. GOD Bless to you and your family.

Great hunt Joas 👊 In some parts, enough Black Bucks have escaped the high fence ranches that there is a healthy wild population now. My son got one and we had a full body mount done. Black bucks are so cool!

I worked at a Inner City Camp called JOY OF JESUS. We would take the girls up to Northern Michigan for a week camping in Long Cabins in the woods. Nice large Lake for swimming, boating, archery, meals, campfires, games. Then the guys would go. We shared Love and JESUS. They would do plays of Bible stories. They have contact all year round. ..
