One last question.. I have t-pins in my mannequins neck from all throughout beauty school. Am I allowed to leave it in the neck to use when necessary? Or does it need to be in the bag of whatever service I need it in

Yes you can have your laptop be sure to check you email leading to the schedule time of your test I’m sure they will send you a link with instructions. Be sure the space you will be using is clutter free and make sure no one is in the room with you and you have no distractions. Have your kit and ID and everything ready .

You sanitize your hands before and after going into your kit also if you wish to take the gloves off immediately after done you can it’s really up to you 🙂

My instructors told me the cap and headband counted as the mannaequin prep and we wouldnt need to drape the mannequin. What are your thoughts? Tysm i have been watching your videos like crazy getting myself ready. It was thanks to this channel i was able to pass my written portion!

So she suggested you do the draping of the mannequin during which part of the test ? The pre exam set up and disinfection? If it has worked for your other classmates I say do what she suggest this method has worked for our students.

Our students use the same cape for facial and waxing. They than change the cape into a Haircutting cape with neck strip for the haircut section. Followed by changing into new towel cape towel for the chemical service, permanent wave , blowdry etc. For those sections they only change the top towel, but keep the same towel that’s underneath and the cape. Hope that helps. Also when in doubt you can change capes for each section if you prefer. Some students use disposable capes , it’s really up to you, as long as you are draping and making sure nothing is soiled.

Hi, so after the facial, the mannequin is very shiny. At what point between finishing and starting the waxing service, can we wipe our mannequin? Or will the massage oil dry out on its own?

If you feel the need to wipe it down you can do it any any time you saw how I used cotton rounds to “remove excess product” on the mannequin if you wish to spray the cotton rounds with water and than remove you can .

Ooh I took my practical today and I messed up so bad I thought the Facial was first but the Monomer/Polymer over tip was first 🫣 my biggest issue was forgetting to put everything up after each section, also my mannequin stand came off on one of the sections and I was so embarrassed and I dropped my water bottle twice the practical exam is very intense in Texas tbh…

The only part of the test that was removed from the Texas Cosmetology practical test was the eyelash Strip application. The Facial portion still IS part of the test

Honestly it not something they say on the bulletin they are not very thorough we simply try to do what we believe will work and they want to see, I think you switching at least the top towel and head draping makes a good transition for a new service. 🍀🍀

No not different, just be sure you have a table ready where you will perform everything log in on time do as they say, follow instructions if they give you any and do the best you can.

Honestly practicing on your own and evaluating your own work and timing yourself is perfectly fine to do. Practice each section, the chemical service sections the haircut the nail tip application all of that 🍀🍀🍀
