Texas DPS Memorial Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Thursday, April 14, 2022, DPS will break ground on the new Texas DPS Memorial in front of the Thomas A. Davis Jr. Building (Building A) at the DPS Headquarters in Austin, Texas. This memorial will serve as an important reminder of the sacrifice made every day by law enforcement and will honor the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The Texas DPS Memorial will stand as a tangible token to honor the legacy and selfless dedication of the men and women who serve the state of Texas.
The new memorial is part of the Texas Rangers 2023 Bicentennial, commemorating the 200 years of service given by the Texas Rangers to the state and the people of Texas.
The Texas Public Safety Commission, DPS Administration and Governor Greg Abbott will be in attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony.
