Hard to believe such a tiny building has such a big history. Thank you for showing us how to appreciate the past.

I was just in Texas two weeks ago, I visited Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth, and the old stockyards, and of course Billy Bob’s the largest honky-tonk bar ever LOL.

Was in San Antonio in June of 2020, the Alamo was closed, they had cement blocks all around the area, so sad, really wanted to see it.

Justin! if you're still here. you hould visit San Jose. it's HUGE! and still looks like a fort. and has a water mill in the back. .. Sidenote... San Juan, Jose, Espada, and Concepcion are still functioning parishes/churches. The interiors are run by the Diocese of San Antonio BUT the exteriors are run by the National park Service. ...also the Alamo is considered a national shrine and has an officer posted 24/7. ... i really do hope you're still here. i think you'll have fun at San Jose.

It's Oscar! Glad you met up! Thanks Justin! If you come back to San Antonio, I hope you visit the River Walk. Hopefully with Ally! So romantic! Ok blessings and stay safe!!!
@TheCommonGentry4 жыл бұрын
Other sidenote!! the ashes/remains are moved to San Fernando Cathedral. It's some blocks down Commerce Street. if you re heading to the red Torchie thing, turn right as if you're heading to El Mercado. You'll eventually see a red courthouse. the Cathedral is in that particular plaza.

Theres a fiberglass Stonehenge in south Alabama that's an exact sized replica of the current Stonehenge dubbed "Bamahenge." It even lines up with the sunrise of the Summer Solstice. I took a look at it in 2019 and its definitely worth a stop if your in the area. The guy had Mark Cline built it, as well as dinosaurs in the woods and a 50ft Lady in the Lake also on his massive property and marina.

Thanks for taking us through the area. We stumbled onto Stonehenge 2 over the summer and filmed a short episode there. It is a pretty unique site. If ever in that area again, go to Bandera and check out their dinosaur park. It is small, but pretty cool. Thanks for your videos and putting a smile on our faces :) Safe travels home.

Wow, I'm super early for once. I just finished watching the other video, and then this one popped up in my notifications! It's showing that I'm the 2nd "like" on the video 😁 Anyways, thank you for this video in advanced because I know it's gonna be educational. I really want to visit the Alamo eventually. Also you're probably gonna pass through NM next, I live in Albuquerque! I've missed you every time you've driven through, and this time it wouldn't be safe to meet you anyways. Oh well, maybe next time! Drive safe Justin!! 💗

The "soldiers" visiting the Alamo while you were there may have been Air Force Airmen that are playing "tourist," they get a day off to go into town and explore at the end of basic training (and must be in uniform). Air Force basic training is all done in San Antonio at Lackland AFB. There are a lot of military stationed in San Antonio, at the various bases, but most likely wouldn't be at the Alamo in uniform.

IIRC, you can get closer to the stones at the Avebury henge, which, like stonehenge, is also in Wiltshire. Also, I freaking love that they have Fess Parker's gun over by Rep. Crockett's stuff. Have they exhibited PeeWee's bike at the Alamo yet?
