Yes, my oakleaf has rust spots also. I spray a copper fungicide on mine every 10 days when my leaves have the rust spots. Not sure how well it helps but it was recommended by the garden center. I’m north of Denton (zone 8 also).

Hi Donna, It’s nice to meet another local gardener! I think it was impossible not to get rust this year with all that rain! I hope it works well for your hydrangea! ~ Dawn

Wow, your garden is glorious. I moved to Fort Worth from Missouri 2 years ago, and I'm struggling to find plants that can survive the Texas heat, sun and clay soil. Your garden is giving me hope that I can get things to grow!

Thank you so much! You can do it! There is definitely a learning curve! My oldest daughter went to Mizzou and I loved the gardens in Missouri!

What a beautiful garden! I would love to know more about the pool you have. I love the way it fits so naturally in with the garden you've cultivated!
@shadedfromreality5 ай бұрын
Hi Valerie! Thank you so much! When we put the pool in, we had an amazing pool company! They listened to me and what I had in mind for the pool/garden design, soooo... it was all built around each other:). I'm not sure if that is helpful or not, but that might be why it appears to fit so naturally!

You keep saying you got too much rain…oh my, how we are in dire need of rain here in middle GA. It’s been at least 2 weeks since we’ve seen any. I’ve been keeping things going with soaker hoses & hand watering. Your garden looks so pretty. I love the pathway around your pool. Good idea! We, too, have an inground pool but I truly wish we didn’t have it after 26 yrs. lol Love your channel! ❤

oh no! Well, I hope you get rain soon. I'm envious of you living in Georgia. I so want to move to the blue ridge area...it's my pipe dream! We usually get heavy torrential rains in the spring and then we are dry as a bone ALL summer long! Yes, for sure, the pool is a lot of unwanted maintenance! Thank you Lindy...appreciate your nice words!

I ended up cutting a lot of my coneflowers back to the ground because the stems and leaves were turning black. I believe it's due to all the rain I have been getting. Supper about it.

That's too bad:(. Yes, all of this rain has pros and cons! We need it, so it's hard to complain about it...it would just be a lot better if it didn't all fall at once...lol!

This was happening to me until I mulched them (newly planted too) and I'm in Texas 9a. They already get shade from mid-day on, but that was still too much sun for them.

Thank you Jackie! We do have lots of weeds as well! You just can't see them as well in the videos! We do hand pull them, but they just keep coming back!
