Man, I really like the way you ride.You never cross the line, stay on your lane and keep a safe distance from the guy in front. I know you are going fast, but I can tell you aren't in the limit of your skills and don't take unnecessary risks. I think is the rigth way to get some fun and minimize the dangers. Keep going. Greetings from Brazil

Kinda crazy how your driving mentality is when riding 2 up, everyone who rides with me: "Wow you'r so smooth and so safe, very careful blah blah blah" meanwhile when i'm on my own the little devil comes out lol That said always riding within your limits is the greatest skill you can have.

In the Austin area, my favorite is 2769 (Lime Creek Rd) on the north side of Lake Travis. It tends to be slow and technical with lots of tight switchback corners marked 15-20 mph. There's no significant runoff in most areas, though not totally catastrophic if you mess up.

In the northwest, we call those sweepers. Twisties for us are much tighter. Looks like fun.

not a lot of twisties in Texas, unfortunately

Absolutely love the Sisters, was even dumb enough to drive it during the ice storm last Feb. The surface is shit though, expect 8-9/10ths available total grip from normal and it eats tires quickly during the summer months.

I'd ride it often if I lived closer, but it's a good 2.5 hours from me, and yeah it tears up those tires for sure!

great ride, great video! would love to see a rough route of the roads you went on while there, i'll be going there for the first time end of april, i'll be going a little slower on a rented R9t however!

We stayed in Kerrville, took 16 to Medina, then 337 from Medina to Leakey; then you have a big square between Leakey and Camp Wood, with 335 and 336 taking you to 41, you can either take clockwise or ccw.

CR, I like how you kept el caballo in check! My Superduke liked doing the same thing this weekend at Homestead Motor Speedway , real excitement.

Haha, the big bikes want to get out of line when hanging with sportbikes, but that's okay. My cousin races at Homestead-Miami Speedway all the time, but I haven't made it with the BMW down there.

Cuban Rider , would be a pleasure to have you down here and meet . Ride safe 👍.

Be careful out there, there is plenty of "invisible dirt/rocks", like I saw in your previous videos. I ride out there frequently, and have been caught off guard by it even when I know it is there.

Thanks for the heads up, those roads didn't feel too confidence inspiring.

That T/C intervention at 2:25 was pretty intense! Apparently lots of the riders were complaining about the road conditions. Looked to be pretty cool out too from the overcast skies. You and that bike continue to impress... I can't even get my Super Duke R to wheelie the way you do! Funny that the R1 rider rolled back into that 'V', imagine if he was on a really tall bike! Glad to see he didn't tip that beauty over right there in the gutter.

That R1 rider is a good friend. I thought it was funny, I would have lost my footing on the tall BMW.

Went for a long ride with the wifey on the R1200GS/A over the weekend, and I almost did the same; Stopped on a dirt shoulder with an incline, and with the bike suspension button set in the '2 up' position, it really feels much taller than the 2 or so inches it raises the bike. Even at 6-02, fully loaded panniers, passenger and topped off with fuel, my little chicken leg could barely save us. Hardest, but most effective thing to do, is to just gas it and go into motion, and let the bike regain it's balance, if you can, as he did. I will put up a vid of that scenic ride out around Monument Valley shortly. ...sure wish we could get together for a ride some time.

The Super Duke R is super easy to wheelie just open the throttle quicker. Wouldn't recommend trying in 1st gear though

GRACIAS... EXCELENTES VIDEOS BRO.
@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
Hola Pietro.

@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
No, el BoosterPlug es como una curita para darle mas gasolina, el Rapid Bike es una solución de tuneo que le da mas gasolina y mas power.
@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
No se en México lo consigas, yo lo compre en Orlando, Florida aqui: rapidbike.us/products/rb-evo-bmw-s1000xr lo mas probable es que le den shipping a México.

Another good vid, keep it up. Question for you, how do you like the tinted screen? Was wondering as I just got my new XR and I'm thinking about the same one but am wondering about looking through it at night (if too dark, etc.). Yours looks like medium tint.
@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
love the tinted screen. I've gone thru the dragon at night, with no option but to look through the windscreen due to the many bugs, yet I survived. So yes, it's doable, haha.
@picrr5296 жыл бұрын
Thanks, finally got out today for my first ride on her, love the thing but I think the windscreen is likely in my future - lots of noisy buffeting around the helmet. Another question please, for street on the XR, do you prefer sport-style gear or adv? Considering adv for trips and such but the seating position leans to the sporty side (legs) and I'm wondering if adv type gear might not be cut right for it. Any opinions? Thanks again
@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
I normally use sport-oriented gear because I think offers a bit more protection. These days I use a lot my riding jeans and AGV Sport leather jacket.

I noticed that you are twisting the throttle a bit on upshifting, is that intentional or not? :) Finally I had a ride on saturday with my MT-10 after 5 months of winter, and tried this, but havent realized if its useful or not. Maybe I havent timed it well. After 5 months I have to get used to her again. I have quickshifter too. You are not the first I notice doing it, but Im asking it the first time :D
@CubanRider6 жыл бұрын
It is intentional, I do it because on the BMW upshifts are smoother under load, they don't feel as smooth if I keep the throttle even. On other bikes it may be different; the MT-10 I rode didn't have a quick-shifter.
@NrbMoto6 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I will try to time it well and see if its better or not on my bike ;)
