@@jeromes5183 fair point he did have 3 drops that would’ve taken his % from 52% to 66% which is a big difference. But he threw the ball deep 9 times and only connected 2 times which is what killed us. 9 out of 11 everywhere else with 2 TD’s. I also feel like the game plan we cam out with was “let’s find our base plays, run those, minimize tape and injury.” Very minimalist and safe play calling. I also think sark wanted the run blocking scheme to be worked out and gelled together more because he was vocal about it not being perfect vs bama and that’s a big component in sarks offenses. Especially when we are still rotating linemen to find the best group. The defense Wyoming ran is a trick, they would occasionally bring pressure but the majority of the they were doing that Iowa state rush 3 drop 8 cloud cover 3 with a 3rd safety and the only way to beat that defense is averaging 5 yards a carry. Running the ball and make them bring a safety to the box. So I expect if we can average 4-6 yards a run consistently (like we did vs bama) those shot plays will be there. They (Wyoming) also had 3 of the top 10 rated run stopping DL. So running the ball was no easy feet which allows them to drop 8 into coverage on 3rd and medium. Same thing that gave Sam fits but ewers can’t run like Sam.

@@jeromes5183 but nonetheless if we expect to win the conference playing like that we are delusional. Realistically we should’ve beaten bama by 20+ had two dropped TD’s and a missed field goal. Hopefully this was a wake up call for them and they become focused on every team the way they did for bama. I have a feeling we were prepping for Baylor a lot this week which is why the offense looked vanilla.

No one else has any real game time experience. I definitely don't want a newbie playing QB, not even against Baylor unless it's mop up duty. See Bama's game last week. They tried that and failed miserably.

@@ezrod677 Yes and it is a fact that ewers is the best qb we have had since Colt Mccoy. The qbs since 2010 have been terrible at reading the field and terrible at accuracy. Ewers has been great so far with 0 turnovers, Ewers has a few bad passes like every single qb every single week. the receivers on the otherhand have a dropping problem. Getting like 5-6 drops is an issue. his comp% would be in the 70s if they would not have butterfingers, he'd also have more tds and yards thrown on the season. Fans are being weird, we've had terrible qbs for 12 seasons in a row. Finally have a decent qb that can finish games and not give up when down, and you cry.
