We had two young boys come around looking to make money shoveling; for people who had their own shovels, as they didn't have one. I gave them money, they shoveled, and then walked off with our shovel. My son saw them a bit later, finished with their work day 😄 and walking home. *We learned later, talking to neighbors, that they had shoveled for quite a few people; since at that point they had the equipment.* I told him to watch what house they went into, and then come get me. I had him take me to the store and purchased two shovels, then we drove to their house. I knocked on the door. They answered like 😳 I simply handed them the new shovels, took mine from their porch, and we went home. 🤷 I have no doubt they needed money, and they didn't seem like bad kids. Hopefully showing them compassion after they took advantage of us, showed them that kindness will get you more.
