@@chrishayes5755 I had a big ol' pillar cyst that grew on my crown for over 12 years. It was basically a walnut sized, rubbery lump on my head, that was under the skin - so my hair still grew on the skin over it. For a decade I didn't care much because though it got big, because it was always perfectly hid by my natural hair growing on, and over it. Even when I cut my hair short, you couldn't really see it, as I had dense hair on my crown. However, by the time I got it removed last year, my full head of hair was thin and balding, and I had developed a bald spot on my crown in only the last few years. Unfortunately the surgery to remove it and the 10 staples used to hold the wound shut - they left a nice sized scar there (about three inches long)... and oddly enough, a little dent running along it where they removed some tissue too that had grown around the cyst under the skin. So now I gotta wear hats all the time now, unless I want people seeing a long scar with 20 little pin-holes next to it, and a very lightly sunken in den/tench. Stuff like this would be a life save if I could afford it. There are a ton of reasons a guy might want to not shave his head completely if he can help it.

I find the barbers & hairdressers that come from north of our borders to settle in SA are far more skilled than us locals - They come from DRC, Angola, Kenya & even as far north as Nigeria.
