My thing is anytime people are chasing after a leader for that many years to try to get them removed from power it says more about that person than it does about the leader. Remind me of the whole international House of prayer time the people that was involved with removing my vehicle I know had allegations against them for years for the very same thing they tried to get my vehicle removed from and my understanding it that they turn on my vehicle because they was about to get exposed. I don't think it's quite the same thing in this situation but a lot of the time the people who go chasing to remove a patch or the heart is a lot of times they got stuff in their closet and they're trying to steer the blame over towards somebody else. Also I found most of the people on social media and long before social media on the website that are the most critical of pastors in general a lot of them are guilty of the very same thing they bash preachers and leaders for doing.

You are absolutely right! However, Morris’ account of what happened and the way he downplayed it suggests he is not truly repentant. He molested a child, not having a consensual relationship with a young lady as he put it. I understand that no one would willingly self-incriminate, but his book and the numerous preachings where he talked about this incident are callous because they retraumatize the victim. Perhaps if he had just kept quiet about the incident, the victim would have healed faster. Anyways, I’m full of sin, so I’m not casting stones and won’t be praying for Robert. Let’s not forget that it was Cindy’s dad that chose not to go to the authorities to have Robert arrested, but allow the pastor and the elders of the church judge the matter (1 Corinthians 6:1-2). Let’s also not forget that on October of 89, after the church’s pastor and elders had “judged” Robert, completed the restoration process and release him back into ministry, that now PASTOR Robert, for SEVEN months (something Cindy and her dad must’ve know) and his wife went to Cindy (now three months shy of her 20th birthday) and her dad’s home to ask for forgiveness. By ALL accounts Cindy and her dad forgave PASTOR Robert. Everything is possible, but it’s hard to believe that Cindy’s dad would grant Robert forgiveness if he was so much (according to Cindy) against him being back in ministry as a pastor. Of course he is now dead and has no say into Cindy’s allegations, now in 2024. So my question is, if she does not dispute that as an almost 20 year old “young lady” she and her dad forgave pastor Robert, what exactly, now at 54, is she after trying to crucify and destroy pastor Robert’s ministry and life because, supposedly, 16 years after “forgiving” him he would not give her fifty thousand dollars to help with the treatment for the damage that Robert supposedly inflicted on her?

@nenar40973 ай бұрын
I honestly don’t see repentance. When David got confronted with his sin with Bathsheba, he fell on the floor crying and accepted the consequences of his sin. This man has undermined his sin, calling her a young lady instead of a child. Stating he only touched but didn’t have intercourse. His wife even called the girl to “forgive” her for enticing her husband. When you are the predator to a child, you don’t get to make light of their trauma. If he has to lose his megachurch pastor status and all the money he makes from that, what a small sacrifice. He can still have a relationship with Christ and that is all that matters. If his sadness comes from losing his status and reputation, then it’s not true repentance. That’s a Saul and not a David.

Very sad. He was a huge huge pastor and Gateway church we know is a Mega church. Hearing this and hearing Pastor Morris on few of his speeches acknowledges his past sexual sins and after all those years they have caught up to him. This is a pastor that many looked up to. My prayers are for him, his family, church, and all of us who were not present in his church, but were present in seeing him on TV and we also looked up to him. This teaches us that sin no matter how lengthy it was it will catch up. My heart today is very broken by this news.

Is Morris still on payroll or did he receive 'severance pay'? These are important questions not answered and should have been part of the statement regarding the resignation...including the actual effective date of the resignation. Had there been an involuntary termination of the contract, there would have been more important facts about the severance terms available from the 'church'. Is there a period during which he shall be paid or a severance 'bonus' that ultimately will pay for his silence and 'staying with their story' if there is litigation or criminal charges against the victim?! Him resigning in Trump's birthdate raises many concerns, especially due to Morris being one of his MANY spiritual advisors. Looks like it is a call out for a Trump nominated judge to be assigned to handle civil litigation to determine the outcome before a case is even filed.

The fault is with the Father, he should´ve gone straight to the police. Sexual predators make friends with the family to get to the children. The Father approached the church instead of the authorities. He would´ve been jailed for years if the father had done the right thing. But he was left to live and deceive the church. He even lied in his book that he left the ministry for two years because of pride, as everyone kept telling him how good was his preaching! When in fact he was forced to take those two years by the church! So, he even spun that in his favor, with a false humility, with everybody commending him!
@Chuck-qi8pw3 ай бұрын
The statute of limitations will protect him legally. However, it’s doubtful he will ever pastor a church again. The church board may have some liability. They are suppose to manage the church properly. FRANKLY, ITS BEEN TOO LONG. IT REALLY HURTS THE CHURCH NATIONWIDE. WHEN IT COMES TO UNDERAGED CHILDREN, I think the Statute of Limitations should be changed. Otherwise, how do we stop this happening over and over again.
@tomkat18833 ай бұрын
It would have stopped right away when the Father found out had he called the police in 1987. But he didn't. Toby Clemishire failed his daughter. It could have stopped even sooner if Cindy's sister Karen would have said something sooner. Cindy and Karen shared a Bedroom. I find it very difficult to believe that Karen did not know anything before 1987...sister's talk. I also believe that the reason that the police were not involved in 1987 is because the family knew beforehand and did nothing making them look bad if the police got involved. Sweep it under the rug, so to speak to protect the "family" integrity. Statute of Limitations do not need to be changed if people act promptly. In this case, nobody did.

Jesus Christ paid a very high price for our sins, and where there is true repentance, God's forgiveness is complete. I have heard people saying, on social media, that Robert Morris did not repent.... I find this to be a shocking statement, how dare any human being feel that they know anothers heart? We bearly know our own hearts......By the stripes that Jesus bore in His body, we were healed, and i believe that only God can heal brokenness.....My heart breaks for Cindy, especially as i have three beautiful daughters, but i am struggling to understand what restitution could ever heal what took place? Money can't heal, words cant heal, seeing others punished won't heal. Please could someone explain to me, outside of the supernatural healing power of God, what could make this right for Cindy? This burning flame has become a consuming wildfire, bringing hurt and devastation to 100's possibly 1000's.What restitution would be adequate?
