Every company in the world that was contracted to erect wind turbines offshore has ceased operations. When the turbine fails, it falls into the water and creates an ecological disaster. There are certain types of garbage that you can dump at sea. But wind turbine parts are not one of them. It costs more to salvage a failed wind turbine in the ocean than the wind turbine can ever generate.

Anti wind turbine person here. They built these horrid things all around my home. Now it's noisy and ugly. The roaring, swooshing, and pulsing that we can sometimes feel in our bodies is not an improvement to our formerly peaceful rural life. The skyline and countryside look dystopian. Flashing red lights at night....litter the skyline. I really miss the quiet peace and rural atmosphere that these things killed.

In the future there will be enough low-cost solar and wind energy powering the grid that it won't really matter if you crank up the A/C. Environmentalists have it all backwards trying to get everyone to be miserable. Instead, we should focus on building out more solar and wind so we can improve our quality of life (and save our atmosphere).

...i have garages and sheds to rennovate , i decided to try stuff in those (not on a house, sheds) take the junk fiberglass insulation and stuff empty plastic water and soda bottles, capped to keep moisture out, only the pete because hdpe is too flammable but it's probably ok for insulate inside walls , the roof for sheds maybe stuccoed inside i've considered a drop of paint the cap each to seal them for sure , they'd go upside down probably, i'd like to make a boiler off a firepit to push a finned turbine spinning a flywheel with maybe four or so car alternators on friction drive off it someday ....ftw ...

​@@eustatic3832 Texas is actually #1 for wind power by a large margin at over 37GW installed capacity and generated nearly 114TWh in 2022. 2023 is shaping to beat 2022's record by a lot. Texas is #2 in solar at over 18GW installed solar capacity second to California's 41GW but California only has some 7GW of wind generating over 16TWh in 2022. Both wind & solar are growing rapidly in both states.

In what way? Solar and wind are 40% of the power generation in Texas and are the fastest growing in this state because it's cheaper to produce. The problem is in Texas you have oil and gas companies in thus state that own the republican legislature that make laws in their favor. They want to keep control of the energy market keeping the consumer rates high when they could be lower if Texas generated more of its power from cheaper renewables . That's the REAL joke here.

@richardcogbill6791 Texas is the largest producer of natural gas in the US. Natural gas is cheaper and cleaner than buying solar panels and wind turbines from the biggest polluter and destroyer of the plant, China.
