Tech fan here. McCasland has said that with the personnel he had at North Texas, the grind it out style was best. At Tech he has a bunch of faster paced shooters, so that's how he's playing the game. Tech fans aren't crying for KU. We lost one of our best players, Cambridge, before conference ever started. The team has been crushed by the flu for the last 2 weeks. Tech had to play in Waco without their only big, Washington and only lost by six. One last thing, the United Spirit Arena has been an awesome atmosphere since Beard first showed up. It's hard to believe that college basketball "insiders" are still unaware of it.

I respect your opinion but I must say in the 90s I remember the old coliseum hopping. Bob knight had a good crowd. When Tech is winning we always show up. Beards effect on atmosphere was less than bob knight or James Dickey… I’m not old enough to know anything about Gerald Myers days but I hear his squad brought out the fans

@@brandonweatherly6764 Oh yeah, for sure. I wasn't sure how many folks would remember that far back. It had gotten pretty bad after the Pat Knight, Chris Walker, Billy Gillespie years and needed to be built back up. Tubby got things back on track and got crazy again when Beard was here. I feel sorry for the folks that missed the atmosphere in the Bubble when things were rocking. It was special. I wish every Red Raider could have experienced Steve Smith hitting a buzzer beater to beat SMU when they were going to be #1 the next day. It was so loud that dust was falling from the ceiling. It was ear splitting. Greatness.

@@theycallmehoipilloi5495 they say all there is to do in Lubbock is root for Red Raiders. I know better. Then again what better a place for an athlete to go to train and get better. Lubbock is a place where champions can blossom we just gotta get them there.

Everyone is banged up. No excuses for KU. Tech dominated and didn’t miss. Without Cambridge and Warren was playing on a bum ankle with the flu

@kdubgolf Our last 3 losses were with missing stars, but we actually made a game of it, taking the game to the buzzer before quitting. KU quit at half time.

I was a (dumb) doubter at the time, but Grant McCasland has been a HOME RUN hire so far. I was so worried about the offense and pace of play; well guess what, we’re top 10 in KenPom adjusted Offense right now

Big12 is the absolute most scary conference, TT isn’t top 5 even after this but they can beat most anybody in the SEC, PAC12, etc

A win is a win and nobody is feeling sorry for KU but lets be honest. TT basically got to play KU 5 on 3 last night. This game does not show me how good TT is or can be because that was not a typical KU team.

Tech is without Cambridge, one of our best players who got hurt before conference. Not to mention, the team has been battling the flu the past 2 weeks. It was not a typical TTU team either but they still blew out KU by 29 points. Even if McCullar was back, I don't think KU would have won. TTU was by far the better team last night. Great teams find ways to win during adversity which is what TTU did. You're just making excuses for KU.

@txhuntsman Everyone is feeling sorry for KU, as that is a big part of this discussion. The difference is when our players were missing the last few games, everyone talked about how tough Tech played rather than using it as an excuse for losing. KU quit and blamed the loss on injuries. The real discussion is that KU is not the typical KU team and is a middle of the Big 12 pack team this year. It took the refs to beat TCU. Tech spanking KU in Lubbock this season is not surprising because KU is pretty average this year.
