Good summation about Juneteenth. I recommend a book called "Dog Ghosts and other Negro Stories" by J. Mason Brewer. He was the first person of color to be added to the Texas Folklore Society . It is written entirely in dialect. One of my favorite stories is about the "Juneteenth Baseball Game." I used to have my students try to read dialect. Most had a very hard time. It is a real part of Texas History. Thanks for what you are doing. James Stinson , Schreiner Grad 1960 and a 30+ year teacher of Texas History. baseball
