Longhorn season ticket holder here. Glad Georgia is a home game. Texas tends to take a quarter to gain traction. Beating Bama at home last year was great, but that was last year. From this point forward, rankings mean less than ever before to a point. The 12 team playoff requires a level of performance that will test college teams in a way they haven’t been tested in a long time. DKR Memorial is the loudest stadium in the country. I’m prepared to lose my voice on Saturday. I expect that the stadium will break record attendance of 105K set during the Bama game in 2022…above seating capacity. I’m wearing hearing protection. 🤘🏽

Only one team has their back against the wall and it aint Texas. I said at the beginning that if Georgia beats Bama- Texas will win a few weeks later when they meet. But if Georgia happens to take a L against Bama Texas will be in trouble because Georgia season is not ending week 7 of the season. Book it- put your money on Georgia and dont think twice. Georgia gets the W Texas drops what from 1 to 3 maybe both teams still stay strongly in the convo for post season and we move forward with the season. But for Texas fans to really assume based off schedule that they are ready to take on arguably the top dog of the SEC the last 3-4 years is laughable especially with them just entering the SEC. Hell Texas may struggle even with some of the SEC schedule remaining- lets wait n see though.

The ability to run the ball offensively and stop the run defensively is the key to this game. Along with turnovers of course. Both of those favor UGA as they have better RBs and stopping the run has been the most consistent part of UGA’s defense. UGA doesn’t get a lot of QB pressure by their DL, but their DL are very good with stopping the run.

If ewers plays good ball I think Texas will be able to come out with a win. If they lose the turnover battle or can't get 1st downs consistently I think Texas will struggle to win. Texas O-line and D-Line look great. Ewers is the only shaky spot currently IMO. If Texas beats em by more than 2 scores it will solidify this team as one of Texas's best.

Really, they have allowed over 60 points to Texas 38 and they did lose to Vanderbilt giving up 20 points. I would not say that they have looked great on defense. Of the three TD;s Texas has allowed two were in garbage time. the other was on a crazy two play drive with two big plays. My guess is that Coach Srak had got that issue taken care of.

UGA is not what they were 2-3 years ago, they just don't have the same level of talent. It is like Texas/UGA did a role reversal. I got 34-24 Texas, from a dawg fan. I'd my dawgs losing 3-4 beginning of season (personnel (not back filling with NFL skill level talent at key spots), and not keeping the same number of Sunday players on defense). GA is easily 2 receivers, a tight end, and 3 OL from being what they were on offense, on defense - 2 DL, 2 DB's, 1 elite LB from being what they were. Yes the players make the difference, and UGA has some serviceable players (they would've been back-ups in previous years, but now starting). But you've to have 4-6 game changers on both sides of the ball to be elite. UGA has 2-3 on defense, and maybe 1-2 on offense. So that is why they look down, Bama is in the same boat. Texas has that on both sides. So as a betting man Texas by 10-17 points. As a UGA fan hopefully we can have a good defensive game and hold them below 30, and the offense hit some shots and keep drives going. When Kirby (who knows players and football as good as anyone), says "we need to get better as a team", he knows he doesn't have an elite team, he is trying to get the most out of what he has. Recipe for a 8-9 win UGA team based on the schedule. I don't see next year being any better, as we don't really have anyone coming up next (at key spots - Qb/receiver/tight end/OL/DL/LB with experience and talent level). We'll see as rumors are (Kirby interviewed/interviewing for Jets job), but everyone playing it down till after season.
