Texas and Pennsylvania played in the Opening Round of the 2023 Little League World Series. The LLWS is double elimination.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.

The best part of my work as a KZbinr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other KZbinrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

At 6:15, that was a designed play put on by the TX coach. Run on strike three, the catcher panics and throws to first, runner on 2nd goes half way to induce a throw over and the kid on third sprints home.

Great footwork by the Texas shortstop at 10:54 and 11:27. Nice reads on the hops of the ball good plays in a tough spots. Great game all around from both teams. Good stuff.

I just don’t understand the negativity towards these games. I think they are so entertaining and well played and I look forward to these games every year. My son was 12 the first year of Covid so this wasn’t even offered to him. And it was a dream of his since he started playing when he was 4 years old. I think everyone is doing a great job.

I agree. I look foreword to the LLWS, bc it’s so fun to watch kids play baseball at such a talented level. That sucks for all the ppl that were 12 on the Covid year. My goal was to make it here, but last year my team got out too early. None the less, the games are super fun to watch

Because 12-13 year olds should be playing on at least 70' basepaths and pitching from 54'. Just about every other youth league structure moves kids away from a 46/60 field by 10U. Some go to 75' basepaths by 13 and are more strict regarding age (10 can play up in 11U if he has game, otherwise an 11 year old won't face a 10 year old) With puberty kicking in at 12-13 you can have 6'/150 pound kids pitching to 5'/100 pound kids from 46'.Not equitable if not dangerous. My grandson plays in Perfect Game which organizes by age (8U, 9U, 10U, ...18U) and at the younger levels by skill (10U A, 10U AA. 10U, AAA) In the tourneys, a AA team can play up to AAA to test their play, and generally take their lickings but get good experience, against better 10 year old players)

Need to teach to freeze on lin- drives, although it's a ball hit in the infield but these fields are small so any ball hit in the infield is almost a line-drive based on this game alone. Go TEXAS though lol.

They’ve butchered the product the last 5 years or so. The bats was inevitable but combining it with the age change and 225 fences means there’s only a kid or two on each team with any chance to go deep, the dropped third strike is a mess, continuous batting order is silly, the umpiring is unbelievably bad and the 10 teams just further diluted the field. Just not an exciting brand of baseball at this point

@@charliewooding6606 correct. Should have never did the age change, outfielders are playing 175 out there and get lucky if they see 3 balls a game. Umpiring is definitely bad also, i watched the highlights of the Japan/cuba game. Horrendous

Ok the umpiring is bad, but the games are still good, and none the less, they’re still fun to watch. But 175 fence is pretty easy to hit, and you wouldn’t even have to barrel it fully for a homer. Dropped third strikes are fine, just catch the ball and he’s out

Through 4 games, there have been 18 hits so far in this LLWS. That is an average of 4.5 hits per game and 2.25 hits per game! That is not good!

@@bcpitch5 they're great umps. Kids were used to keeping the bat on their shoulder. Now they're seeing that they need to actually swing and it's going poorly for them. If anything, it was bad coaching that was teaching the kids to always look for walks.

The new batting order rule is pathetic. Undoubtedly changed the game in a negative way - this isn’t baseball. Woke politics making its way to the LLWS is extremely disheartening. “You’re not quite good enough to play in the starting 9 but hey, don’t try to earn your way into the lineup we will just let you play regardless”

Every LLWS I've watched, and it's many. The home plate umpires suck. Loads of strikes called that were no where near the strike zone. Pretty sad. You'd think the LLWS people could hire decent umps, not these blind clowns.
